The Shure MicroFlex MX418 is a fully adjustable cardioid gooseneck microphone designed for podium and desktop use in speech, presentations, conferences and more. The MicroFlex gooseneck microphone series offers the flexibility of removable capsules offering cardioid (included) supercardioid and omnidirectional polar patterns. In addition, the MicroFlex series features high sensitivity and balanced, transformerless output for maximum immunity to electromagnetic hum and RF interference, even over long cable runs.

A: Unfortunately no, because this microphone uses a TA4F connector, it is meant to be specifically hooked up to a Shure wireless body pack that accepts this type of connector. There are ways around this, but I would suggest using a different microphone that has a standard TRS or XLR connector.

A: We actually bought these microphones for a children's play to avoid entrusting 6 year olds to $400 countrymans. They are flexible, but there's no actual adjustment. We didn't have any fit issues with our kids though, and they worked perfectly for our application.

We bought the system @ B&H, so it only made sense to go there for the replacement - which seems like its been upgraded. Was the same price as buying directly from Shure - but w/ free shipping. [Mono] Like most Shure products, this lecturn mic behaves as advertised right out of the box without any fuss. There are a number of configurations of the same basic unit and it is worth taking the time to be sure you understand the various choices before ordering. But the descriptions are clear and detailed once you get to the comparison page of the online catalog and the range of options will cover a wide variety of situations. This is a versitile professional product at a reasonable price. 5

[Solid-State] These are great mics. I use them at board meetings and when people lean back after long meetings, I can still hear them. Also they are resistant to feedback. I bought 15 and feel they are great. I also enjoy the functionality of the switch and how it is a cough switch by default. 5
