This Red Filter is ideal for strong contrast improvement since it absorbs green and blue completely and enhances red. In addition to contrast control, red filters enhance skin tones, tonal corrections and are effective for more dramatic landscapes.

[0.2 lb] As the previous reviewer mentioned, this piece of glass is 4mm thick instead of the more standard 2mm thick that filter systems accommodate. If you are using the original Lee 4x4 setup, you can order 4mm side guides (google it) for your kit that will allow to use the thicker glass. I hope this helps someone.

[4.7 x 4.5 x 1"] Pops out the clouds as intended. Adds plenty of dramatic contrast to your black & white shots in general so no complaints. For me this gives an instant vintage feel on the image like jumping back in time about 70 years...

[0.2 lb] It's hard to find photographic equipment for non - digital cameras. Local stores didn't have it, and Amazon wasn't quite what I wanted. This red filter is what I wanted.
