Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Which double strobe tray do you recommend for this housing?

A: The Ikelite Tray with Dual Release Handles for Compact Underwater Housings, BH #IK9523.64, is the correct double strobe tray for the Ikelite 200DLM/D Underwater Housing for Canon EOS R10 Camera.

Q: 2. Will this fit and is it compatible with a Ricoh gr3?

A: Yes, the Ewa-Marine SplashiX Underwater Housing for Point-and-Shoot Camera (4 x 6 x 3.5") is compatible with the Ricoh gr3.

Q: 3. Will an npf790 fit inside this housing? Or is the 770 the largest capacity battery that will fit?

A: Yes, the largest battery you should use with the Aquatica 5HD Underwater Monitor is a NP-F770 battery pack. It will not work with anything larger, such as an NP-F970 battery pack.

Q: 4. Would the housing and accessories support the 28-70mm F2 lens as well?

A: This items ships without a lens port or extensions, meaning it will not work with a lens until you purchase the necessary attachments. Based on the chart from Ikelite, it seems the RF 28-70mm f/2 is not a currently supported lens. Please contact the manufacturer for more information on what extensions/domes/ports might be required. [20" / 50.8 cm] I waited two months for my viewfinder to arrive from the company and it hasn't spent much time in its box. The quality of its components, its ease of installation all make it well worth the 1K or more . . . Problems Encountered: Its weight may be an issue for some, especially since Aquatica's housings tend toward the heavier side . . . Previous Equivalent Items Owned: Aquatica F3, F4, CP5000 Items I Recommend: Aquatica D2x, Aquatica D200

[0.765 lb] Decided to get this over cheaper alternatives mainly due to:1) optical glass for better image quality2) adaptor to hold front of glass against your lens which really help in preventing any vignetting I do have previous experience using sports housings by aquatech for sports photography and got this more for casual beach side usage. Overall, am very satisfied by the quality of the housing and the images produced out of it.

[20" / 50.8 cm] This is a really great housing. I have been using it for surf photography. The housings made for surf photography can run you a couple of thousand, minimum, so this one is an awesome way to get started! It's a bit tricky without being able to test the settings and the lens port requires some cropping in post when using wide angle lenses. Totally worth it though!

[0.765 lb] I choose this 45 degree viewfinder because not always have plenty space to shoot being completely vertical. This viewfinder allows me to be horizontal and be able to shoot perfectly

[0.765 lb] This really is an amazing housing for the price. The first one I had I used I actually found in the basement at my parents house. It had been sitting there for 10+ years and I did a leak test, still worked, and I used it to do surf photography for the first time. It did eventually split open at the side, but I did catch it before going in the water. It lasted a good 6 months which was amazing because it was at least 10 years old. So I bought another one! I loved the second one for a long time and my mistake was leaving it in the car in the heat :-( It shrunk because it got too hot in my trunk, then when I put the camera in it, the housing was soft and the side split open. My fault here for sure. So I bought another one, hahahaha :-) Moral of the story here is to just continuously do water checks for your housing, it is soft housing so just be aware of not leaving it in your car for a day when you aren't using it, but this has been such an amazing an affordable option for me until I can buy a proper water housing. The only downside is it is too hard to change the settings once the camera is in the housing. So I use masking tape to keep my lens set at infinity, then I set my aperture and shutter speed depending on the light, sometimes auto if it's one of those days, and then just go for it! I have taken some amazing photos and love love love how much I've learned to get creative with my settings because of the restriction of being able to change it in the moment :-) It gets 5 stars because for a tenth of the price I get to create amazing photos and enjoy surf photography! I don't have to wait to spend 2500+ on a housing to do what I want :-) And as with any type of water housing, there is always a risk of ruining your camera. I already lost one camera to the sea :-) But the joy of ocean photography is so worth it so I'm willing to jump into the possibility of doing it again! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine!

[20" / 50.8 cm] Light weight and easy to use. I started using it with my Canon EOS10D and am still using it with the EOS 50D. With all other housings I would have had to buy a new one each time I changed the camera...

[20" / 50.8 cm] Once you get one of these you can not go back to a default Aquatica viewer. Have mine on the 5DII housing. Easy to put on and off for travel. Setting up shots underwater is hard enough and this makes life easier especially if you are far sighted. Gives a full view of the viewfinder. Expensive but worth it.
