[Powered: 2.1x] I almost went with a different projector that had more bells and whistles. Thank goodness I didn't. This projector is all about the image. For the price, it just can't be beat. If you love the cinema, find your favorite movie in 4K and it will be just like you are in a movie theater.

[250 W] Overall I am very happy with this projector. I wish it didn't cost quite so much. I hesitated for weeks to make the decision. I am replacing my Epson 2150 which I was also pleased with but wanted the 4k capability. I had no issues setting it up and watching a 4k video and a 3D movie. I love the brightness selections and the picture doesn't get washed out by room lighting or natural light. I was also pleased with B&H. I got it within a few days and no issues with ordering or the shipping. I would buy from them again and I recommend them.

[1.35 to 2.84:1] I was completely surprised when I found out how large this projector is. I hadn't paid much attention to the dimensions or weight of the unit until I purchased it and notice how large the box was. This unit was recommended by a reputable source as one of the best home theater projectors on the market. So, I made my decision based on that information and it’s cost. There was another Epson projector that was recommended as being better but it was $1000 more. I owned a Panasonic PT-L500U HDTV Projector for over 17 years and it went out on me and at the time I purchased it, it was the best on the market. The technological advances over the years required not only a new projector but a new A/V receiver and other components. As stated in the beginning, the size of this projector was so much larger than the Panasonic projector (weight 7 lbs vs 25 lbs) that I was tempted to replace it with a smaller projector but the cost/value/capabilities weren't there. After setting up the projector it was easy to adjust the lens, however, I still don't have the keystone set properly. The color and vividness of the projector was great. I would recommend purchasing a tuning DVD to get the colors and contrast optimized. I noticed a considerable improvement in picture quality after calibrating the unit. The cost of a DVD is minimal, at around $20, relative to the benefit. The DVDs I purchased were “Digital Video Essentials” and “Disney WOW” both are great at optimizing the projector. In fact, a calibration DVD should be provided by the Projector OEM. They also should provide printed Owners Manuals that would make the set-up much easier. I noticed my previous components all included printed Owners Manuals, the ones I purchased nowadays don’t. Overall, I would definitely recommend this projector but make sure you have a steady mount.

[Yes] I’ve had an Epson powerlite Home Cinema 8350 for 12 years. The 3800 is much brighter. We can now watch with the shades open! I went back with Epson based on their quality. It’s too soon to know much more.

[Yes] This is a great upgrade from my 12-year-old Panasonic. The image is beautiful.
This is a very bright projector. Far too bright for my dim basement even in eco mode. I got a Hoya ND2 lens filter to reduce the brightness. A 82mm filter is easily taped to the projector lens. The image is still beautiful -- now not as glaring.

[31.75 lb] Replaced an older high end, very expensive projector. Ceiling mounted in my theatre. Did it myself with no problems. Picture quality is phenomenal for the money... Buy one, you wont be disappointed.

[f/2 to 3] This projector was tested against a few other brands and similar projectors within the same brand. This one came out on top for both price and quality. I'm quite satisfied.

[f/2 to 3] It's our first home cinema projector and is meeting or exceeding almost all expectations in terms of quality of picture (not using a screen) and ease of use. One quibble - having trouble connecting Sonos roam speakers via bluetooth.
