The optics are designed to give maximum performance at full aperture with superior control of flare, distortion, and spherical aberration.

Contacts in the mount sync with /i compatible cameras and accessories, providing lens information on focusing distance, aperture and depth of field, hyperfocal distance, serial number, owner data, lens type, and focal length in both meters and feet.

All Cooke S7/i prime lenses are color balanced to the Cook 5/i, S4/i, Anamorphic/i, and PANCHRO/i Classic lenses.

Cooke S7/i Primes have a true T2.0 aperture and cover 35/Super 35mm, Full Frame, and beyond.

Every index mark is labeled. More detailed markings allow for more detailed focus control.

Academy Award-winning cam-style focus movement coupled with the added benefit of a large lens barrel diameter has allowed for an increased number of focus markings, particularly at close focus. Spherical aberration has been controlled throughout the range of focal lengths to eliminate compensation of changes in back focus with aperture. A four-point contact bearing provides a smooth, positive, backlash-free movement.

Large, clear numerals on both sides of the focus barrel enable your focus puller to work from either side of the lens without remarking or flipping the lens upside down.

S7/i Primes have a common fixed front diameter of 110mm, with a focus drive gear of 140T x 0.8 mod, and an iris drive gear of 134T x 0.8.

A scratch-resistant PTFE hard anodized finish is provided on all Cooke lenses, providing a durable, hard-wearing surface to meet the most demanding environmental conditions.

A nine-blade linear module iris assembly is fitted into S7/i primes with an aperture range of T2.0 to T22.

[Imperial] Bought these to use with various cameras to get an anamorphic feel. I really like the look. They aren’t super sharp but fairly well built for the price, have a nice character and actually give a cinematic look. Maybe not 2 x character but for the price I love them.

[T2] I've spent only a little time with this lens and really liking it. It's light and fairly compact (a little larger than the Sony kit 28-70 lens). Has nice bokeh. It's pretty sharp in the center. The build quality is good but not exceptional. It focusses well in most circumstances if a little noisily (I got used to the noise after a while). Generally, very pleased with the lens. Delivery was quick and no hassle.

[ARRI PL] shot with lens and totally surprised with the bokeh as good as it's from the still leica M camera lenses and S lenses even it's a wide angle the bokeh still shows blued well in the background I can't imaging how good is the 1.4 version of summilux c ....

[Yes] When I saw the many video reviews and demos of the Remus Lenses and the price for a set, I knew that they were going to be my first venture into anamorphic lenses.

Although it took almost 3 months to get the set, it was well worth the wait. I recommend this model, for it's budget and it's quality build. It's really amazing.

[Full Frame] I've only done tests on location with these before the shoot I've been planning next week... These lenses have a dreamy, droopy, anamorphic look wide open, but I wouldn't suggest using them wide open unless you need a dreamy look. Super soft wide open. At T2.8 it gets better but T4 is where it actually gets sharp. For more context, I'm shooting on a C70, and we know that camera is on the softer side...

Aperture/Focus rings are smooth and a pleasure to use.

Focus breathing is not great, but depending on the shot your going after, it could be ok. They do some funky things when panning or handheld. I plan to use these lenses mostly locked off, on a slider, dolly, etc for nice smooth controlled shots with an artistic look.

Definitely recommend.

[27mm] I bought a set of Viltrox anamorphic lenses, which are amazing, but I wanted something smaller and lighter for my FX6/Ronin 4D. These Blazar lenses are a lot of fun. I only have the 65 so far, which I find wide enough for most situations without having the issues in the corners that the 45 had. Waiting to try out their new ones, I just need something slightly wider and another slightly tighter. Waiting to hear what they say about the new additions.

[ARRI PL] This amongst my favorite lens for my XH2. Beautiful rendition of colors as well a very sharp lens. Definitely Pro level lens. It rival full frame ones.

[T22] I just received this lens set TODAY so please take this all with a grain of salt. This is also being done without shimming so there may be a little bit of blurriness that normally wouldn't be there. I added 2.39 bars to help see what an end image may look like.

I really wanted to see the differences between the Great Joy Set and the Remus. I've uploaded some photos to help people choose.

Overall I think I may go with the Remus as they seem to actually sharpen up closely to the Great Joy's when opened to 2.8T. they also seem to actually have a little more color constancy between each other (However, I did my test on a cloudy day so the sun may have played a factor).

To play to the favor of the Great Joy set they are a little cleaner and I would say might be a better set of lenses for commercial style work where as the Remus set seem to lean into the Narrative a bit more.

Hope this is a little helpful! Both sets of lenses are totally worth the money.

[9] This lens replaced my kit lens. It's the perfect complement to my 70-300 Sony g lens. I use the 27 for family gatherings, indoor shooting, outdoor wide photos. I don't really feel boxed into any use cases.

Photos are really sharp across the range of f stops. Love the effect of the lower stops for sweet blurry backgrounds.

Auto focus with an a6700 has been snappy and very sharp. I haven't had any focus breathing or focus searching in my usage.

Easy to use. Great build quality. Great picture.
