This 4 to 9-stop, 72mm Haida NanoPro NDFilter 72mm 4-9 Stopprovides an exposure reduction of 4 to 9 stops. The 1.2 to 2.7 optical density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. The degree of density is easily controlled by rotating the front filter ring, helping you to predetermine the additional exposure length required. By increasing your aperture or slowing your exposure time, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. For easier, repeatable control over density settings, the front ring is also visually demarcated with dots that represent different density values and includes a rotation lever to further enable fast, as well as precise positioning of the front ring.

This filter is constructed from optical glass for clarity and color fidelity. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, each glass surface includes 10 layers of anti-reflection coatings, which also offer greater protection to the filter substrate and help keep it clean for a longer period of time. The Nano coating associated with the Haida 72mm NanoPro Variable Neutral Density Filter provides an additional layer that results in an improved beading effect when the surface comes in contact with water or oil, allowing for more efficient cleaning.

I want the ability to remove the top VND filter when moving from bright to low-light environments, without having another stop of reduction below it (in the adapter).

A: The magnetic adapter ring in this Haida NanoPro kit does not contain a polarizer.

Q: 9. Will the Haida magnetic filter (77mm) stick to a different brand 77mm magnetic ring?

[0.24 lb] I own the Lee Filters 'Big Stopper 3.0 ND filter (10 stop) and have used it quite often. After seeing the reviews on this filter, I thought I would try it against the Lee system. This filter produces more natural and warmer colors than the Lee, the contrast seems to look a little better. Haida's M10 filter system doesn't leave a lot to be desired though but their ND filters are definitely worth the investment!!! This filter will work in the Lee holder,as it comes with a layer of foam that can be applied to keep light from bleeding past. I am very pleased with the results and would highly recommend this filter for anyone who wants to do long exposure photography.

[0.24 lb] Inexpensive. Dead-on 10 stops (based on some fairly limited testing). Throws a little yellow-orange-brown ish color cast, but it is fairly uniform making it manageable and correctable.

[0.24 lb] Excellent materials of construction, a high quality glass, compared to other higher cost filters, has a very exact control of color casts. For the price and quality it has, I recommend it is worth it.

[0.24 lb] Works as expected, but keep in mind most neutral density filters have some color cast.

[0.24 lb] I decided on a circular filter, due to the ease and speed of assembly, I also found in the Haida brand an excellent quality glass, a very high control of certain color dominances, compared to much more expensive filters.
I wanted to buy polar pro, but the cost is high compared to this one, and although there are differences, it is not something that makes me consider investing so much money in a glass that will not be put every day in my lenses. As a bonus, I have taken the Haida to very extreme tests in the Chilean heathen, in the cold and in the Atacama desert, in the heat and dust.
I recommend it
