As you can see from my pictures posted, I have a plastic cover protector over my laptop and it still fits nice and snug in the sleeve. The sleeve has a very soft interior and the zipper is strong and sturdy. Also, the grey fabric material is thick and gives me the impression that it will handle wear and tear nicely for at least as long as I have the laptop.

Note: If you use your macbook on top of one of these, the magnet in sleeve lid may cause it to turn its screen to sleep.
