[42 mm] I'm very impressed with the Leica Noctivid 10x42 binoculars. The view is very bright and crisp. I'm thrilled with my purchase.

[15.2 mm] We have several good binoculars but even the best doesn't come close to the sharpness and bright image that these binoculars produce.

In addition to the high image quality they are lite and the strap is good enough not to replace.

Very expensive but worth it.

[4.2 mm] Been bird watching with 10x32 in the Western US for many years. Felt the need for extra light gathering and these Leica fit the bill. The equivalent Zeiss were lighter but felt flimsy (more plastic), the Swarovski seemed very close in comparison and were simply more expensive. They do just fit my eyes, I have to fold them almost together for my optimal viewing (never had this issue before). These are all top end choices, but the Leica won out for me and despite the increase in weight it has been worth the enhanced views during this spring's migrations.

[42 mm] I've owned the 10 X 42 Noctivid binoculars for 16 months and am very impressed by how well Leica executed their design goals with them. Before choosing Leica, I tested both the Zeiss Victory SF and Swarovski NL Pure in the same 10 X 42 configuration. The Noctivids won because of their insane eye relief of 19 mm, their huge ocular lenses, the very well executed diopter setting mechanism and their amazing contrast and color saturation. Resolution is also the best of the three. They are also shorter than the Swaro's and Zeiss so quicker to draw focus in the field. I also love the fit and finish that simply scream quality.
I have tried to duplicate the problem another reviewer noted with glare from the grooves inside the eyecups but not only cannot see it, I can't see how it could even happen, the exit pupil being the only source of light inside the eyecups when they are fully extended. The grooves inside my pair's eyecups are well anodized so no reflection can be seen at all.
My only complaint is that the protective caps for the ocular lenses are brittle and the retaining ring has broken on both. Otherwise, simply amazing!

[Roof (BK7)] Top notch construction, feels good in the hands, the clarity is unbelievable and focus is quick. I can take them to the Yankees stadium, sit on the 4th level, focus on the batters box and see individual pieces gravel beneath the player. I also use them as a telephoto for my phone.
