[2.81 lb] Fantastic case, i use it with my fs7 with extension unit and a full movcam basekit on it. The only thing that has to come off the camera is the follow focus. The mattebox just manages to sneek into the case. A warning is that this case is huge - much larger than any other camera bag I've seen . It's great that the camera fits while built but the trade off is a very large case that's difficult to shoulder around. Quality is fantastic as always - there is a reason portabrace is used by every pro out there

[Universal] This bag allows you to load up your valuable investment in a complete safety package. From the lens tie down to the ample side pockets its the perfect bag for this camera. You can load it up with the viewfinder and grip handle attached without smashing everything to the sides as in other smaller bags. I must say I did utilize some additional velcro dividers to keep everything in order but the sides are strong, the storage in the lid extra good and overall another great bag from Porta-brace. I've used porta-brace bags for over 30 years and I've never been disappointed.

[Universal] Is it as expensive as a used malaise-era sedan? Yes. Should you consider anything else? No. This is the second Recoil kit I've had, and for good reason. I loved the first one so much, when the budget came through to get some new gear I immediately had this on the list. These are built extremely well, very robust, and it looks even better in person. You definitely look like a pro when you're holding the Recoil. I recommend splurging for the Tornado grip accessory, though. It's definitely something that benefits from having two arms, and the Tornado is extremely handy for extra balance, and focus control.

[11.8 x 8 x 3.7"] This case is really the only thing out there that works well for the FS-7. It is extremely roomy and allows you to store the camera fully setup so that all you have to do is reposition the grip and start shooting. I would like to see some pick and pluck foam included for the price so you can create custom inserts for your needs. It is expensive, but if it protects the camera, it's worth it.

[Universal] I've only shot on the shoulder a couple of times, and it took some adjustments to get the COG right over my shoulder, and my hand positions comfortable. I would recommend a second handle over the single.


I paired this with a small rig VCT plate, saved half the money and it's similar in weight.


The only thing this kit needs is a back cheese plate for the c500. They're hard to find and $$$. Would love to see it in the recoil pro kit.

[2.81 lb] Used this for a month in Athens on a documentary with my FX6. Outstanding build. Very comfortable. Tried the SmallRig and prefer this. Make sure you get the VCT Tripod plate.

[2.81 lb] Don't know where to put up your Sony while you are on vacation? Stop looking around, you have found the perfect solution to host your camera while you are away. This bag kicks other camera bags squarely in their genitals and does not bite. Be warned that to comfortably house a fully assembled Sony FS7, you need a lot of space. You won't be able to slide this under a bed while not in use, because it is too tall -- and if you fly with your service animal, you can't use it as carry on as it is too large. Awesome bag!

[11.8 x 8 x 3.7"] It's not only a better place to have it (lower and forward) than the factory place, but the hex screw on the factory plate is such a nightmare. Only took me twice of loosening it and tightening it for it to strip, and now I can't loosen it any more. If I was you, I would order this Zacuto top plate at the same time you order the camera and replace it immediately before you, like me, strip the factory screw.

[2.81 lb] First of all, I have to say, this works really well. Its well designed and works quite well.

The item is a bit expensive, and so when you get it in the mail you quickly realize what youre paying for is the engineering, research, and prototyping it must have taken to build this item. The actual item is well built, but you realize that in material cost, its not quite worth what youre paying.

However, where the product shines is in filling out the camera kit for anyone who does interview work and then needs to switch to hand-held for b-roll or for getting a quick interview on the fly. For indie films, this is a great tool as well since you can quickly get your camera up and running with a dual handle set-up.

Ive always been concerned about the Zacuto system because it originally didnt have this piece. There was no dual-Arri rosette with the base plate. I did go with Zacuto though due to its great balance and build quality. However, I was always looking back and forth to other competitors.

Recently, on a shoot, I had to go hand-held real quick, and I remember thinking it may be time to switch to a different system. Fortunately, I found this out, and it has been great ever since. The item works really well - its quite intuitive, and it can be customized to fit in different positions.

Ideally, to have it work well, youd have a 1st AC or an assistant of some kind to get it balanced perfectly. However, you can of course just set-up it up by yourself. It goes pretty quick. An assistant would just help make the flow a little faster by allowing you to customize how you want to hold the dual grips.

I would highly recommend this. The tornado grip never seemed like the solution I was looking for. Fortunately, this seems to be it.

[Universal] I ordered this case for my FS7 so that I could drop it in and out without having to remove view finder. Still need to remove the handgrip, But find I'm shooting most things without that on anyway. And this case allows it all to be stored/packed nicely. Both this case and the first RIG-FS7 are extremely well constructed, carry well and should last for many years.
