The cage's reversible top handle with a rubber grip provides additional ways to comfortably handhold your camera. A cold shoe at the top can be used to mount a microphone, monitor, or other camera-top accessory. The handle folds down when packing your bag and can be alternately secured onto the left vertical rod for a secondary grip.

The base of the cage is a Manfrotto quick release dovetail which can directly secure your camera to Manfrotto standard quick release plates and tripod heads. Quick release functionality works the same as existing Manfrotto plates. Simply turn the thumbscrew and depress the release pin to slide the plate backward out of the base.
