Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you use a 2 Ft. 14 gauge extension cord with the CP 1500PFCLCD? I did use it for several years with a older CP1350PFCLCD. Or is a 2 Ft. 12 gauge extension cord better to use?

A: A 14ga extension cord should be adequate for the wattage capabilities of the CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD PFC Sinewave UPS.

Q: 2. Can I connect a three outlet 50 foot extension cord into a single surge+battery outlet on the UPS as I have 2-3 other devices too far away from where the UPS will be placed. The devices are a cable modem, WiFi router and Netgear router?

A: In order for the UPS to work as intended, it is not recommended to use any type of extension cord or to share outlets with more than 1 device.

Q: 3. If this only backs up 100 watts of power will it last for 10 minutes since it lasts for 2 minutes with 500 watts?

A: The CyberPower ST900U 12-Outlet Standby UPS BH #CYST900U can run for approximately 31.7 minutes at a 100W load.

Q: 4. Is the software compatible with Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit?

A: Yes.Go to cyberpowersystems .com / products / software(Extra spaces added above so server won't block link! Remove extra spaces.)Good luck

Q: 5. Can this UPS be used to clean up dirty power from less expensive back up generator?

A: NO! This is not a double conversion design, so it will pass through dirty power, unless you are on battery. This is true for almost all battery backups, as double conversion designs are less efficient.

Q: 6. Says takes 2 12 volt batteries? Hard to believe. Can't find a small 12 v battery that would fit.

A: Yes, the CyberPower AVR Series CP900AVR UPS, B&H # CYP900AV, does take two 12V batteries. The specific battery that is listed on CyberPower's website for this unit is not currently for sale at B&H: https://bit.ly/3UrEbwh.

Q: 7. Is the battery replaceable?

A: No, CyberPower 8-Outlet 450VA/260W Standby UPS does not have a user replaceable battery.

Q: 8. What is the battery life after power is disconnected?

A: There is no simple answer to that question, as it depends on what the load is. It could be 30 minutes or it could be 5 minutes. A small, low power computer with the monitor not on battery might last 30-40 minutes, where a PC with a large power supply, high power video card, 4 hard drives, and three 27 monitors all connected to battery will go pretty fast. If you know the actual power requirements of your connected gear, you can approximate with your own math. If unsure, get a bigger unit.

Q: 9. Does this communicate via usb to equipment?

A: Hello daniel, Yes, this unit communicates via USB to equipment. Thank you for your question.

Q: 10. Does it come with rack mounts that attach to the sides of the unit?

A: Rackmounts are included with the CyberPower PFC Sinewave 2000VA UPS.

[20 A] This isn't my main UPS, so this review is written with that in mind. It's a UPS I bought strictly for travel, where I prefer lightweight to go with my laptop and field battery chargers, and don't need either long battery times or true sine wave output to clean dirty power—just long enough to shut down quickly without jolting my electronics into uselessness.

It's better than no UPS at all, but for home use I'd recommend one with sine wave output. Those are both expensive and heavy, though—at under 4 lbs. this is a great choice for a travel UPS.

[Metal] I've owned many UPS units before, usually much bigger ones for workstations and servers. Sometimes you just need something smaller for a few small peripherals or external drives. I was really surprised how tiny this unit is. I've had similar ones before as well and they were all bigger. Tech has come a long way! Love this thing!

[Metal] This a basic PDU but a good one. APC did a good job with it.
