Arista Ortho Litho 3.0 Film 8.5x11 100 Sheetsfrom Arista Ortho Litho 3.0 Film 8.5x11 100 Sheetsis a line and halftone camera film designed for pre-press applications. As a high-contrast film, it is characterized by a very steep gradation and gradation tone, along with a wide density range with high Dmax and low Dmin values for enhanced UV transmission. For halftone, high-contrast applications, rapid access processing in ACD chemistry, such as Majestic 650, is recommended; for continuous tone use, diluted B&W paper developers are recommended for lower contrast results.

For easy handling of the film, the emulsion incorporates a dedicated layer to prevent Newton rings, as well as separate anti-static and anti-stress layers to protect against dust, scratches, and other damage. Additionally, it can be handled and processed under a red safe light.

This item is one box of 100 sheets of 8.5 x 11" film.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this 100 sheets as in the title / description or 10 sheets as in the circle in the image?

A: This would be 100 sheets.

Q: 2. Is this a continuous-tone film, or a "lith" type emulsion (very high contrast) for repro work?

A: The Ilford Ortho Plus Black and White Negative Film (12 x 20", 25 Sheets) is Orthochromatic B&W Negative Film. It is high contrast. Ideal for Tech. & Half-Tone Applications.

Q: 3. can this be used in 7840?

A: Unfortunately no, it is not compatible with the Work Force printers such as the WF-7840. It is designed for use in the Sure Color series printers.

Q: 4. The 4x5 size says it doesn’t fit in normal film holders. Is that a problem for 8x10 as well?

A: Yes, it is the same with the 8x10 film--it's slightly too big for most film holders and will need to be trimmed a bit.

Q: 5. So I can’t load it to 4x5 sheet film holder then how do I use it ?

A: The Arista Ortho Litho 3.0 Film is a type of high contrast production film. If one would trim the film down, it would be possible to fit it into a 4x5 holder. Paying attention to what side the emulsion is, can definitely be a challenge. This type of film would be used for contact reproduction rather than regular photography.

Q: 6. What is the expiration date of this film ?

A: As of 2/1/2024 the Arista EDU Ultra 400 Black and White Negative Film (4 x 5", 50 Sheets) expiration date is 8/2026, This is subject to change.

Q: 7. Someone can informe me about the reciprocity of the Ilford Ortho Copy + 4x5? i want to use this film with a pinhole camera.

A: On page two of the following PDF, there is a graph that shows the amount of time you would need to add to various metered exposure times. http://bit.ly/1V4RhsS

Q: 8. Can this film be used as direct duplicating film to make an internegative? Looking for film to use in an enlarger to go from 6x6 120 to an 8x10 negative for contact printing processes. Thanks!

A: This film is not designed for that. It would not work for your application.

Q: 9. It loads the same as conventional 4x5 film, in the film holder?

A: Yes, it loads the same as conventional film.

Q: 10. Why is Artista Orth Litho 3.0 not designed to use in conventional film holders; is it a print film or negative film? Please illuminate for me. Thanks.

A: Actually Arista 4x5 Lith film is too large to fit in 4x5 film holders, yes I know that sounds oxymoronic. This film is meant for line cameras and so they don't use traditional film holders. Bottom line, the film would have to be trimmed a bit.

[2.42 lb] I develop it in HC110 (since I have that already, anyways) and being able to do that under red light in the open while watching is just great! It also is great to load film cassettes under red light, a great practice for the real deal (panchromatic film).

I always make sure to refill in time so that I have at least 50 sheets left.

[2.42 lb] If you like paper, slow film and/or ortho emulsions this stuff will become a fav. It's also very cheap and you can process AND loading under safe light.
