Its gradation can be used to selectively darken an image from edge to edge, allowing for wider apertures or reduced shutter speeds. A: I purchased one of these filters about a year ago and have found it excellent my my uses. I haven't had any issues with ghosting /flaring. I think this shade of filter is ideal, I often use it in combination with a circular polariser also from B&W on a Canon 16-35mmf4L for seascapes in relatively bright light. If you are going to combine filters make sure to get some plastic filter wrenches as they can bind.together a bit

Q: 10. is this filter compatible with Pentax 58mm lens?

A: I have used this filter with Canon lens. No problem. Also have mounted the filter in front of a HOYA uv filter. No problem. While I have not used it with any PENTAX lens, I would expect that there will be no problem since the mounting thread for 58mm is standard.
