Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will the Roland V-1HD accept inputs from the Canon XA20 and XA25 cameras?

A: Not sure about those Canon cameras, but it accepts HDMI inputs from several Canon DSLRs that I own.

Q: 2. In the PIP effect, do you have control over the size of the window and location and also can you crop the horizontal or vertical of the video window?

A: Hi. I love this unit. Regarding your question - I don't think you can control the size, but you can control the location. You can also set the size and color of the video window

Q: 3. Do they make these for left handed players

A: This does not come in a left handed model.

Q: 4. Is this unit able to take 1080p as input and provide 1080i as output?

A: Yes, this unit can take 1080p as an input and provide 1080i as an output.

Q: 5. Will this switcher feed hdmi imbedded audio to a device like an Epiphan Webcaster X2?

A: Yes, Audio and Video are available on the HDMI output. You can attach the switcher via USB to a computer (I use a SurfacePro and with the correct software, you will have an audio mixer for the video switcher.

Q: 6. Looking for a pair of speakers to use with V-Drums AND synths. Would these be a good fit? Extra features compared to the PM-200.

A: Yes, the Roland KC-200 4-Channel Mixing Keyboard Amplifier can be used with V-Drums and synthesizers, as well as with a microphone.

Q: 7. How important is it to have the 'drops and spills' coverage?

A: The AllState Protection Plans available to add onto products such as the Roland KC-200 4-Channel Mixing Keyboard Amplifier afford additional protection for items that covers instances not necessarily handled by the product warranty such as drops and spills. The plans add significant value via quick repairs or replacement and 24/7 support. Depending on how this keyboard amp will be used and by who, for instance if used to perform in public, the AllState Protection Plan would provide extra piece of mind and protection.

Q: 8. Can I daisy chain 2 units? (The 8 input version of this doesn't have MIDI)

A: You could take the output from one unit and input it to another unit. That would effectively give you 7 HDMI inputs. The unit that has another switch connected to it would have 3 inputs with its own signal then the 4th input would have 4 HDMI inputs from the other switcher, for a total of 7 sources.

Q: 9. One of our camera feeds also sends the audio feed from our mixer. Will this device let me constantly use the audio from camera 1 even if I switch to camera 2?

A: Yes, that is possible. You are able to select the audio you want to be live independent of which camera input is live.

Q: 10. How much does this item weigh?

A: The weight of this item would be 28 lb (12.5 kg)

[Preset: 128] I grew up on the old Roland Junos, and was especially fond of my Juno 60. The sounds from that, the Juno 106 and Jupiter 8 were in a class by themselves. The System-8 brings all of that back. The sounds are there, as is the layout -- with all the controls out and ready to be tinkered with -- making it a great blast from the past. Having both a Juno 106 and Jupiter 8 all in one, along with the System 8 synth, is pretty sweet. I was skeptical of a digital take on analog sounds, but Roland's ACB technology delivers. It too, is in its own class.

[Preset: 128] I use the JD-Xi to compose music rather than play live or jam. Although all the demo patches are of the EDM genre, the device is capable of so much more. It is wonderful for generating ideas quickly using the loop sequencer. The JD-Xi is not hard to learn, even though a fair number of functions require some shallow menu-diving (all parameters are immediately below the menu sections). Mercifully, each menu section remembers the last parameter you tweaked and brings it up first, which is a nice touch. Most importantly, there is a stunning variety of current and retro electronic sounds in this box. The drums are samples, but you have so much control over each drum sound when creating a kit that you'll be blown away. The other three parts (it's 4 part multitimbral) are true synthesizer engines, one analog (simple but nice), and two digital (very, very deep). Listen to some of the demos online to see if the sounds are in your wheelhouse. My main complaint is the lack of swing quantization (AKA, shuffle or groove) in the built-in sequencer. Most beats I naturally play have swing to them, and they don't sound right after quantization. There is no option to turn off quantization. My favorite beats so far have been made by setting the steps-per-bar to 12 (triplets). This can give beats a swing-like feel. Of course, if you use an external sequencer (the JD-Xi makes a great 4-part sound module), you can swing all you want. This is my first Roland instrument, and I have to say, I think the JD-Xi is destined to become a classic (like my MicroKorg). If you do your research and like what you see in the demos, I think you'll be very happy with it.

[600 mA] I have been using Roland synthesizer since the 1980s. I am a hard to convince consumer when it comes to analog modeling and this one is probably some of the best I've heard from Roland. The ability to stack all of your different synthesizer models on top of one another is amazing. it's very convincing and is just gorgeous sounding. The keyboard feels good and the flow is incredible with all of the polyphony it sounds huge!

[Preset: 128] I'm new to the world of synthesizers. I decided to start my journey with the SH-01A because of its compact form factor and straight forward design. I paired it with the Roland K-25m keyboard, which was really easy to setup.

I also love that this synth is usb powered and can run off 4 AA batteries. It offers more than enough features to be enthralled with the vast array of audio possibilities.

[16 parts] This Roland AX-Edge package is a great deal. I am super impressed with the instrument and even more impressed with the speed of shipping and the quality of customer service that I received. I had a minor connectivity issue with the product and b&h customer service were able to help resolve it.
