With this Vixen Optics 100mm Finder Eyepiece 1.25"you can eliminate the need for a conventional finderscope to make finding and viewing celestial objects faster and easier. Its extremely long 100mm focal length yields very low magnifications on even the largest catadioptrics or longest refractors, and the wide 11° apparent angle of view makes finding your target object easy as long as you're in the right general area of the night sky. Centering your subject is made even more convenient with the crosshair aiming reticle. This Finder Eyepiece is outfitted with a 1.25" barrel to fit the most popular size drawtubes, visual backs, and diagonals.

A: This model has not been tested on that scope, but based on the Manufacturer this model will not work on the HEQ5.

A: The Celestron 8-24mm Zoom Eyepiece (1.25") BH #CEEPZ824 • MFR #93230 is the same eyepiece that comes with the Celestron TrailSeeker 80 20-60x80 Spotting Scope.

Q: 4. Is this compatible with vixen porta II tall mount?

A: Yes, the Vixen Optics eSG Half Pillar can be used with the Vixen Optics Porta II Tall Alt-Azimuth Mount.

Q: 5. What is the thread diameter and TPI or Pitch under the rubber eyecup?

A: That information is not published by Celestron

Q: 6. Will the Vixen flip mirror (#37301) connect directly to the Vixen T-mount for Nikkon (#2680)or is something else needed for that connection?

A: You do not. You can just thread that T-mount right on.

Q: 7. Does it have a dovetail mount? For my Vixen-103 telescope.

A: The Vixen Optics 7x50 Illuminated Finderscope does not have a dovetail and it is only compatible with a few specific Vixen telescopes.

Q: 8. Is it possible to remove the cross hairs?

A: The Vixen Optics 100mm Finder Eyepiece does not allow for the cross hair reticle to be removed.

Q: 9. It is possible to ask Vixen to remove battery from scope so that it can be shipped to Singapore?

A: Unfortunately we are unable to do this. My sincere apologies.

[11°] This worked great! I used this piece, alone with a 1.25 prism on a Mannon brand telescope that's close to about 40 years old. I was able to convert it from the .965 inch eyepieces to the more common 1.25 inch. If you're looking to retro fit some vintage scopes, chances are you can just unscrew the old piece and pop this one on. Perfect! 5

[100mm] This eyepiece give me 45x magnification in my telescope. It's fully multi-coated, so the image is very clear. Great price to! 5

[1.25"] I needed a few of these for my classic telescopes to allow 1.25 eyepieces. They fit the vintage 36.4mm threads on my Tasco, Royal Astro, Sears and many other older 50's and 60's telescopes. B&H had the best price around. I'll be buying a few more. 5

Simple solution: If your vintage refractor uses a 36.4mm thread simply unscrew the old 0.965 inch eyepiece adapter and replace it with this Vixen adapter and you can use high quality 1.25 eyepieces /accessories. This simple accessory allowed me to get the best performance ever from my 50 year old f16 refractor. 5
