$178.50 $221.34

For users ranging from students to forensics specialists, the Celestron 2MP Digital Microscope Imager | High-Quality Imagingprovides an easy way to view specimens and capture images to your computer.

Using the included adapter ring, installation is as fast as removing the eyepiece (just one for stereo microscopes) and dropping the imager into the holder. By itself, the imager has a 100x power when viewing on a monitor, and its magnification can be increased by using different objectives on the microscope. For example, a 10x objective would yield a 1000x power while a 4x objective would produce 400x power.

The imager is powered by your computer's USB port via the permanently attached cable. The included software suite for Windows operating systems includes the device driver and control/capture S-Viewer program that features built-in measurement and marker tools so you can measure and make annotations of your specimen. If you're running Mac, the imager can be used as an external camera without the S-Viewer in conjunction with the Photo Booth or Quick Camera apps.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. This is a live feed camera? Able to take pictures and video? Edit yourself while out star gazing?

A: Yes, the NexImage can be used as a live feed camera, take images, video and edit them while stargazing. Sincerely, Garrett at Celestron

Q: 2. I have a very nice pair of 125mm-objective binoculars, and I've always wanted to try to use a camera with them to photograph terrestrial objects (birds across the bay, cargo ships in the harbor, etc.). The binos use pairs of standard TeleVue 1.25 eyepieces. Would this astro camera be an easy and inexpensive way to do this? Thank you for any help you can offer. - Mark H.

A: This NexImage 5 will fit into any 1.25 format eyepiece holder. So if your binoculars are using 1.25 eyepieces currently - this would connect to them (obviously through only one of the oculars)

Q: 3. WOULD THE Celestron NexImage 5 Solar System Imager (5MP)WORK WITH A 10 SKYWATCHER DOBS GOTO?

A: It should work fine with any goto telescope. I have a Celestron 6se and got awesome results on my first night after watching a few YouTube videos

Q: 4. does this work with a Mac or an IPAD?

A: It's compatible with Mac OS and Windows.

Q: 5. is it possible to attach this camera to a baader hyperion zoom ? I am planning to buy a skywatcher 120mm ed refractor and a vx mount ,but I am unclear as to if this can only be used with barlows for multiples of prime focus or if it can be attached to ep's

A: The NexImage 5 camera does not have a lens and is not designed to record images through an eyepiece. It is designed to fit into your telescope's 1.25 focuser drawtube (or 2 to 1.25 adapter) in place of an eyepiece, using the optics of your telescope as a lens. In principal, you can use this camera with a Barlow for added magnification, but the 2.2 micron pixel size of the Neximage 5 combined with the 840mm focal length of the Skywatcher 120 ED already means that to 0.54 arc-seconds of sky will be spread over each pixel. A 120mm aperture only gives an angular resolution of (at best) 1.16 arc-seconds due to diffraction. In this situation any extra magnification provided by a Barlow can do little to improve the resolution of the image and will work against you by reducing the signal to noise ratio.

Q: 6. does this fit on a LCM114 Telescope?

A: The Celestron NexImage 5 Solar System Imager (5MP) BH #CENM5SSI • MFR #93711 will work with the Celestron 114LCM 114mm f/9 Computerized GoTo Reflector Telescope BH #CE114LCM • MFR #31150 or any other make and model telescope with a 1.25" eyepiece.

Q: 7. Does this include the micro sd card?

A: No it doesn't include any SD card. but there is a slot for SD card

Q: 8. Does this work with the NexStar Evolution Series, Model 12090 6 I use a MacBook Pro. Does it work with Mac operating system? (Sierra)

A: To the best of my knowledge it will work with the telescope but I don't think the software is Mac compatible.

Q: 9. IS this light enough and or compatible with a Skywatcher Heritage 130 tabletop telescope?

A: Yes, no problem it only weighs 4 to 5 oz.

Q: 10. Will this work with windows 11?

[1.5 oz / 42.0 g] Nice camera for the price. Images are sharp and clear. However, there is a learning curve for using the software that comes with it. Lots of "how to" You Tube videos to assist you how it works.

[1/3.2"] I love it. It is more than I had expected it to be for the price and it works very well. I like the software that comes with it and as a new recruit to astrophotograpy, I should be able to learn a lot by using this camera and not outgrow it for some time to come.
