Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Could you pair two of those speakers where one would be connected to a sound device 633 and the other would act as a "slave" speaker?

A: Yes, the LD Systems MAUI 5 GO Ultra-Portable Battery-Powered Column PA System have the proper input and output configurations to send signal into an initial unit from a device like the Sound Devices 633 and then output from that unit to another in a daisy chain configuration.

Q: 2. How big of a room and crowd can these speakers accommodate ? Truthfully ?

A: The Maui 5 is well-suited for smaller venues of about 650 square feet and can accommodate audiences of approximately 50 to 100 people. It can be used for presentations, live performance (soloists, duos and trios, especially acoustic performers) or playing recorded music, but it is not intended to be used for playing excessively loud music or music with very deep bass.

Q: 3. How heavy is it? Are there wheels like spinner luggage to carry it?

A: There are no wheels built into this unit. The system weighs in at about 25 lbs.

Q: 4. If this system is meant to be mounted in a rack, why is the antenna mounted on the back of the unit?

A: The receiver in the LD Systems U505.1 IEM Wireless Stereo In-Ear Monitoring System uses a standard rear antenna connection commonly found on rackmount receivers. The rear mounted antenna does not typically limit wireless performance and often provides convenience in respects to antenna distribution and connectivity. The antenna in this system also adds the advantage of being jointed for flexibility and pointing horizontally if needed.

Q: 5. Can this be used without the battery to save weight? Or do you need the battery even while using AC?

A: No, the battery for the LD Systems MAUI 5 GO Ultra-Portable Battery-Powered Column PA System is integrated in the column section. You can operate the system with AC power and while doing so, you can charge the battery at the same time.

Q: 6. Am I able to hook up a headphone mixer to this system? I play drums to backing tracks and I need to be able to use a headphone mixer.

A: There is no provision for a headphone output.

Q: 7. does it have an echo features for microphone?

A: No, there are no built-in effects included on this PA system.

Q: 8. I am wanting to connect my Peavy mixer to this system and when I I use the rear XLR plugs I get no signal. If I plug into the topside mic jack it works. Am I not suppose to use the rear XLR plugs for an external mixer? What am I doing wrong?

A: You can connect LINE level signals from your mixer into the rear XLRL/1/4-inch combo inputs. Be sure to set the output of your Peavey mixer to "LINE" level. It sounds like you are sending a MIC level signal, and that is why you are getting a signal from the front input, which is MIC level only.

Q: 9. What is the sampling rate and bit depth of the DA audio conversion?

A: The Kopul PSI-USB USB to Audio Direct Box for Digital Audio to PA Systems & Mixers has a sample rate of 48 kHz and a bit depth of 16-bit. The frequency range is 20 Hz to 20 kHz and the dynamic range is 92 dB.

Q: 10. The only input power is 120V? Does support 240V or not

A: It does not 120V only.

[Zipper] This is the one if you are a audio expert and want the most natural and pure sound for acoustic instruments. This things sounds like should be $5,000! I just found the best personal PA of my career ....and I have owned many

[Zipper] I did extensive research after owning a Bose L1 compact and a turbosound ip500 (sold them both). I was looking for something in the $1000 range for DJing and acoustic gigs and came across the LD MAUI 11 G2. On paper its specs are substantially better than the Bose L1 compact, and in real life AS WELL!!. The Bose L1 compact has a wider coverage and the tone match for guitar allows to bypass an acoustic pedal for your guitar if needed, thats it. In EVERY other aspect the LD maui 11 g2 is better. Having designated tweeters allows it to hit notes high in the 20k Hz range. Bass is deep as well, much deeper and louder than the L1 compact. One can totally tell the difference between the wooden cabinet of the LD vs. plastic of others. Guitars and voices sound superb. Dance music (latin, disco, rock, hip hop, raeggetton) is very tight and appropriate for a crowd of 40-50 people (more if used with a separate subwoofer). As far as acoustic gigs (guitar and vocals) Id imagine it would cover a much larger crowd. Also, the construction is superb! looks and feels extremely well built and professional!
The bad is feedback in the hi-z input when plugging in your guitar directly. However if passed through a little mixer and going through the line input no feedback was present.
Overall excellent product!!!

[Zipper] This system is super easy to setup and transport. Gets pretty loud before a noticeable breakup/clipping. I also have a curve 500 system which is why I tried the MAUI. Great product for the $$$.
