As part of the Sports line within Sigma's Global Vision series, this lens is designed to offer excellent optical performance, speed, and other customizable features that make it an ideal choice for wildlife, sports, action, and other fast-moving subjects.

Wide-ranging super telephoto zoom is designed for full-frame Canon EF-mount cameras, however is also suitable for APS-C models where it provides a 96-960mm equivalent focal length range.

One Special Low Dispersion (SLD) element and three F Low Dispersion (FLD) elements are featured in the optical design and help to reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations for improved clarity and color accuracy, as well as spherical aberrations for reduced distortion and improved sharpness throughout the zoom range.

A Super Multi-Layer Coating has been applied to lens elements in order to minimize lens flare and ghosting and contribute to producing contrast-rich and color-neutral imagery, even in backlit conditions.

Front and rear lens elements have been treated with a water- and oil-repellent coating to benefit working in harsh environmental conditions.

Rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a smooth and pleasing bokeh quality.

The integrated HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) realizes quick and quiet autofocusing, which is further complemented by an optimized AF algorithm to produce smoother focusing performance. The HSM also permits full-time manual focus control simply by rotating the focus ring at any time.

An Intelligent Optical Stabilizer system minimizes the appearance of camera shake by up to four stops to benefit making sharper imagery when shooting handheld.

The lens is constructed using a Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) material, along with traditional metals, for greater precision and use in wide temperature variations.

The bayonet mount is constructed from brass for ensured accuracy and durability. Additionally, rubber sealing is incorporated in the mount design to render it dust- and splash-resistant.

Tripod collar has a rotating design and the replaceable foot is Arca-type compatible for easy mounting.

This lens is compatible with the optional Sigma USB Dock for fine-tuning different lens characteristics and updating its firmware.

Compatible with optional Sigma 1.4x and 2x teleconverters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Has anyone used this with the Z9 with the FTZ II adapter?? How does it perform?

A: When using the FTZ2 adapter, the Sigma 60-600mm lens for Nikon F is compatible with the Z9.

Q: 2. will i reatin the auto focus with the sigma tc 1401 ? i have the canon 5d mark iv and the canon mark iii body's

A: No, you would not. When using the Sigma 1.4x Teleconverter (TC-1401) with the Sigma 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports Lens, the lens will become the equivalent of a 84-840mm f/6.3-9, while when using the Sigma 2x Teleconverter (TC-2001) on the Sigma 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports Lens, the lens will become the equivalent of a 120-1200mm f/9-13. The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR camera's autofocus sensor requires the lens to have a maximum aperture (or equivalent maximum aperture) of f/8 or brighter to retain autofocus. The 60-600mm lens would not focus with the 2x teleconverter as the equivalent aperture range is f/9-13. When using the 1.4x teleconverter, it would still be recommended to focus manually, as the equivalent aperture range would be f/6.3-9. While the lens may try to autofocus on the wider focal lengths, focus would be slow, and you would lose focus capability as you zoom to the telephoto zoom settings.

Q: 3. Is this lens fully compatible with the Nikon Z9? Thx.

A: Yes, the Sigma 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports Lens for Nikon F along with a Nikon FTZ series adapter can work with the Nikon Z9.

Q: 4. What is the max aperture at 150mm - comparable to the max aperture of the Sigma 150-600 f/5-6.5 at 150mm?

A: The max aperture at 150mm on the 60-600mm is f/5.3. As soon as you hit 150mm it switches to f/5.3, if you're at 149mm it's f/5.

Q: 5. What is the outer diameter of the lens? In other words can i use a clamp on matte box?

A: It is 4.7 inches/ 120.4mm for the outside diameter.

Q: 6. Can this lens be used with the Canon rebel series cameras?

A: Yes, it is compatible with the Canon Rebel cameras.

Q: 7. Is the Sigma 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports Lens for Nikon F fully compatible with the Nikon D4? I see it is listed as being fully compatible with a Nikon D4S.

A: Yes. This lens is fully compatible with the Nikon D4.

Q: 8. Is it compatible with a Canon EOS 80D?

A: Yes, this will work on an EOS 80D. Due to the crop factor on your 80D. The field of view will be equivalent to 96mm-960mm.

Q: 9. Hello, will this lens work with a D90 nikon camera?

A: According to Sigma's Lens Compatibility Chart, this lens will not work on the Nikon D90.

Q: 10. How does this lens perform on a Canon R5 with an EF-RF adapter? Any drop in image sharpness or AF?

A: The Sigma 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports Lens for Canon EF is fully compatible with the Canon R5 when using the Canon EF to RF adapter. There is no loss in optical quality or focusing speed when using the adapter.

[Full-Frame] I have only had time to play with this - but pictures are very clear. Great for those shots that you are too far to get a close up of. I have taken a few great shots of eagles flying near our cabin.

[60 to 600mm] This lens is extremely robust, and the form and function are well thought out. The images are crisp but not perfect, and the 10X zoom makes it very, very convenient for my amateur hiking landscape/wildlife shooting. The other reviews are right, it is VERY heavy, so a dedicated support system or strap, as well as a monopole are warranted if you're carrying it any distance at all. I have found it works better than I expected in low light, and the focus and OS are fast and accurate. It is also GIANT, so plan on reassessing your storage / transport situation--my lens purchase was quickly followed by a new backpack purchase and a new heavy duty strap purchase. But it was well worth it, I can roam the woods taking flower pictures and heron pictures without swapping lenses--I really can get away with only this lens on our adventures. Overall I could not be happier given the price point--it is ideal for my hobby needs and I only had to sell one guitar to get it LOL. Note that the attached photos are compressed JPGs, but they give a good idea of the bokeh and feel of the images. The heron pictures were just after dawn in low light, this lens did a great job.

[f/4.5 to 6.3] I absolutely love the lens! It focuses quick and clear both far and close with low light or sun. It focuses sharp at a distance when on the 600mm length. A game changer for me!

[105 mm (Front)] I am fairly new to photography. My love of nature takes me to the woods and lake every weekend. I found my 300mm lense just couldn't get me close enough to the wildlife. I struggled with spending $2,000. 00 on a larger lense. I researched this Sigma 60-600 Sport for months and B & H customer service was there to help me with my questions. I purchased this lense and am extremely pleased with it. The reviews and advice was spot on! I am getting photos now I could never have gotten with my 300. There's definitely a learning curve for me with such a large lense and the weight is substantial w/o a tripod, which will be my next purchase from B & H. I am learning new things about my Sigma 60-600 Sport every day and can honestly say I don't regret this purchase. I would definitely recommend this lense for outdoor enthusiasts who want to get close to the action, whether it is photographing wildlife or sports. Go for it because life is too short!

[Full-Frame] I have used this on only one birding shoot so far. To say this lens is amazing would be an understatement. The photos are tack sharp and are as good or maybe better than my Canon 500mm prime! I highly recommend this lens!
