[Yes] I wanted a tripod that was sturdy but very portable. This one does the trick. Very happy so far.

[Ball Head] I have a couple of hefty tripods, but I was looking for something small I could use around the house, something that would fold up small so I could just throw it in the car and not worry about taking up a lot of space. But I also wanted it to be sturdy and have a decent head and an Arca style mount. This fits the bill perfectly. Glad I got it.

A travel tripod will always be a compromise, a trade-off between folded length, extended length, weight and stability. In my opinion, the Benro Tripster provides an optimal relationship between these factors. It also provides the best bang for the buck among travel tripods.

Folded, this Carbon Fiber tripod compacts to 14.1 and weighs in at 3 pounds. It comes with a draw-corded, lightweight travel sack. You might consider purchasing a separate padded case for excursions on a plane, but in the backpack, the corded sack works just fine.
The tripod legs fold over the ballhead for trasport and then fold down in use. Most tripods that fold up smaller than 15" do not extend beyond 53"; this one extends to 59".
There is a hook on the bottom of the tripod where you can add ballast like a backpack to increase its weight to add stability...useful if there is a stiff breeze. While the Benro Tripster is rated to hold 17.6 pounds, I suggest you do not exceed half the rating for this and other carbon fiber tripods.

[Yes: Removable] This tripod is high quality and light weight. It is sturdy enough to easily hold my Fujifilm X-T3 with a 100-400 mm zoom lens. I especially like the separate tilt & pan controls, the integral gear hook, that you can remove one leg to convert to a monopod and that its a mere 2.5 lbs. so its perfect for backpacking.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] I've used the Benro Tripster tripod for some hiking and backpacking with great results. It's been solid with both my Canon bodies and lenses and had enabled me to put them on a tripod where in the past my standard tripod was too heavy and large to take with me.

[5] Purchased two years ago. Used numerous times although I consider it lightly used. Works smoothly as new. Not quite as stable as a regular tripod that doesn't have legs that invert when folding for extra compactness. But it's within my expectations.

[Ball Head] Easy to use, light weight and sturdy.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] I already own the TMA27C along with the V2E Triple Action Ball Head and they are absolutely solid together, but at an approximately folded length of 28 tall I need a smaller option for long hikes and travel.
This Benro is perfect, small and very solid (the lower legs are not those flimsy little legs you find at the 5 section travel tripods out there). This tripod is lightweight and sturdy plus it looks great.
