The CAMVATE 1/4"-20 Male to Hot Shoe Adapterenables you to mount a small video or photo accessory, such as a microphone, video light, or a shoe mount flash, and place it on a video rig cold shoe or a cameras hot shoe. The adapter's post starts off with a 1/4"-20 male thread and converts into a 3/8"-16 thread as you go lower. The two adjustable nuts travel along the post, so the knurled discs create a tight fit and lock the accessory into place.

A: This will not work as TTL at all. Only straight hotshoe to fire whatever is sitting in either the 2 slots. As you can see there is no other TTL contacts on the hotshoe to talk to whatever is attached to it.I wanted to buy this as I wanted to use my Canon transmitter and a PW at the same time. Problem is they made the hotshoes too close together so it was way to tight. Additionally when I tried to trigger them both there were some problems firing to get both to work together.The most problematic was the Profoto Air TTL, it simply would not fire any of the strobes at all. I think the Air TTL is looking for the signal contacts from camera hotshoe and since there isn't any on this splitter, it doesn't want to fire.I also thought I could use this to fire my Canon transmitter AND the Profoto Air TTL together. Again it wouldnt' work and the hotshoes are too close together. I really think they need to go back to the drawing board and redo for people who use dual triggers to fire all their different strobes together.

Q: 8. With this adapter mounted on the Pentax 645d, and a flash mounted on it, could the flash be triggered by connecting it to a Pentax Leaf shutter lens? What other Adapters could perform the same function, using a PC to PC cord?Thanks for any answers provided.

[0.045 lb] The designer of this adapter really earned his money with this design. The foot is nicely made with clean edges and a good black anodized coating. The shoulder thumb nuts are large enough to get a good grip on them while only the shoulder clamps the rim of the shoe. The screw is long enough to fully engage any load and the second thumb nut tightens the load. Very nicely done overall. 5

[0.045 lb] The knurled disc is easy to grip when you tighten, or untighten, this from the cold shoe, or the item you're mounting. This beats out the adapter that came with my LumeCube. Otherwise there's not much to say. The finish is good and it appears well made. I trust it will hold speedlights securely. 5

[0.045 lb] I chose the Rycote Hot Shoe to mount my GoPro Hero Black camera on an older Novoflex Small Ball Head to provide some articulation in composing my camera position for the GoPro. The Rycote Hot Shoe locks securely and fits perfectly unlike some cheaper versions on the market that easily strip out after minimal usage. Everything is mounted on a Bogen light stand and operated via the GoPro Bluetooth app. Works flawlessly. 5

[0.045 lb] I needed a way to mount a Nikon SC-29 off-camera flash cord to a Manfrotto 175F Justin Spring Clamp and this is a perfect solution. I can now tether a speedlight or a SU-800 Wireless Speedlight Commander to the Justin Clamp. The screw locks keep the flash cord secured in place even when mounting a heavy SB-900 flash. A little pricey but a solid build and a very secure mounting solution. 5
