This heather gray Lowepro FreeLine Backpack 350 AW Heather Grayis a versatile bag that features two primary configurations. Inside its spacious main compartment, a removable, folding partition system forms three shelves that can be used to store camera, video, audio, or digital media equipment. The shelves can accommodate a DSLR camera kit with a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, and to enhance the ability to organize the contents, a Lowepro Gear Box equipment pouch is included. Cords, adapters, and other essentials for the devices carried by the FreeLine Backpack 350 AW can be inserted within the Gear Box, keeping them organized and available. Complete access to the FreeLine Backpack 350 AW's interior is enabled by a zippered rear panel, while two zippered side openings further complement the folding partition system and Gear Box. While in use, the folding partition system's shelves and the Gear Box itself can be reached when the bag is rotated from one's back to front with either side opening facing upward. Each side opening also provides interior organizational pockets for memory cards, batteries, or other accessories that are frequently exchanged when an item is removed or placed within a bag.

When the FreeLine Backpack 350 AW is worn, a dedicated compartment for 15" laptops rests directly behind the shoulders, followed by the main compartment, and a front-facing pocket for items that need to be accessed quickly and conveniently, such as a pair of sunglasses or music player earphones. Positioned above the backpack's base, the laptop compartment helps minimize the effect of any bumps or shocks upon its contents. Along the exterior of each zippered side opening is a large, open pocket that can hold a water bottle, tripod, monopod, or trekking pole; any one of which can be secured using a locking strap above each pocket.

The FreeLine Backpack 350 AW can be carried using its built-in top handle, or by its adjustable shoulder straps. A zipper along the inner edge of the strap which rests over the wearer's left shoulder opens to reveal a pull-out smartphone pocket that accommodates even large-screen mobile devices. When traveling over difficult or uneven terrain, the bag's waist belt transfers weight to the hips for additional comfort, while the sternum strap further limits unintentional shifting around the wearer.

Featuring durable, weather-resistant nylon construction, this backpack's attachment webbings along its sides and on the face of its front panel allow for pouches with external straps such as the Gear Box to be clipped or tied to this bag's surface. While traveling with a rolling case that features a dual-column telescoping handle, a pass-through band across the center of the FreeLine Backpack 350 AW's rear panel allows this bag to be mounted onto such handles for added convenience.

A: Hi Jackson - If you watch the video for this backpack (look at the gallery of images above), it goes over all of this for you. [Gray] I have been using the same old pack for many years (a Lowepro 1981), and am amazed by how far design has progressed. This one fits into the overhead storage compartment of a very tiny plane, and the top pocket is roomy enough to hold things needed on a long flight while the rest of the thing protects all my fragile gear. On site the side openings make it very easy to get at equipment, and small pouches keep memory cards, filters, etc. accessible. The one problem I have encountered is the length of the straps. I am a small person, and need all straps set to their shortest length. They tend to slide out a bit from that position, so I will be adding some snaps and hooks to keep them in place.

[Gray] Materials are excellent and the backpack feels good on the back. I can fit inside camera gear (Sony a7r iii + 1 or 2 lenses) and a 15" laptop. Even a small drone. Great thing is that the backpack size isnt too big or too small, its perfect for the city and travelling.

[Gray] I have used this backpack for two years! I am a frequent traveler and love to use the backpack to carry my A7M3, 2-3 lenses, 2 flash light, 1 LED light, some accessories, and a bunch of cables, and a power bank. Of course, iPad pro or MacBook is also carried at the same time. While you are hiking you can also carry two tripods with this bag. Consider the price, you pay less than you get. I definitely recommend this bag! Forget to mention that the quality is also good. too.

[Gray] This pack is really great, and in contrast to another reviewer’s opinion, I think this Lowepro beats the Peak Design 20L everyday backpack. This bag has everything the Peak Design bag has, plus more—a rain cover, an included accessories bag, a better closure system at the top (zipper rather than flap), and better pockets on the inside of the side access pockets. And in my opinion it looks way better. As for the removable shelf system, yes it takes up a bit of your useable space on the inside, but in my experience it actually makes my Nikon D750 and four lenses fit better—less rattling around. I used some dividers from a different Lowepro bag to customize my setup so one lens is on the camera, and the other three are on their own little cubby. And I have room for another lens if I want. My only complaint is that Lowepro doesn’t seem to sell replacement parts such as chest straps, etc. Anyway, I highly recommend this pack. It is full featured and excellent construction using high-quality materials. And as always, B&H’s customer service is wonderful.

[Gray] I just got it from B&H store in Manhattan a couple of days ago and initially I was going there to get Peak Design Everyday Backpack, 20 L but when I saw this one on display I had decided to check on it first and at the end of that research I'd completely changed my mind and got this Lowepro backpack. My criteria was to get a backpack with both side openings and at least 3 places available from each side. I usually travel with my Sony a6600 with 18-105mm lens attached, Sony a5100 with 10-18mm lens attached and Sony 100-400mm with TC1.4. I was able to place everything inside the bag plus a lot of miscellaneous on top. Still I have all side flaps unused.
I'm grateful to get this bag because I was able to place everything I needed, it has more compartments comparing to PD and one more feature which is common for PD too is an ability to place my a6600 with attached 100-400 with TC vertically into the bag because the design of both brands allows to bend dividers on 90 degrees so I'm able to place even Sony 200-600mm inside vertically which is an awesome feature for me from both brands, Lowepro and PD but I paid almost $100 less than PD. Kudos to Lowepro!!!

[4.3 lb] I have been carrying this bag with all my gear, 2 bodies, 2 lenses around nyc for days. Extremely satisfied. This is the most comfortable and well thought out ergonomically perfect bag I have owned since my first bag in 1990s and approximately two dozen after that.
