A: No, the Zoom H1n does not have the ability to record a safety track.

Q: 3. Whats it like with a Sony ECM-DS70P

A: The ECM-DS70P (B&H # SOECMDS70P) is compatible for use with the H1n, but you may find that you get better sounding results using the recorder's built-in stereo X/Y mic. If you do connect an external mic to the H1n, the built-in X/Y mic will be disabled.

Q: 4. Has anyone tried using the Countryman B3 lav mic with this? Any issues?

A: Shouldn't be. The recorder will supply the 1 to 3 volts needed by the microphone.

Q: 5. Can I wire the zoom mic/recorder to my android laptop and use as a live mic for video conference or vlogging?

A: I tried the H1n on a PC and could not get the computer to recognize it as an audio input device. This is not to say that it won't work on your android laptop...but it didn't work on my PC.

A: Just remove the mini sd card, insert it into the computer of your choice, then name your file.

Q: 7. Is it possible to connect both the recorder and a shotgun mic to this grip?

A: The handle grip (with a foam covering) has a male screw on one end & a female screw on the other. So if you attach the recorder to the male screw of the grip, it's possible to attach something else to the female end of the grip (1/4 screw), if you get additional adapters. Another thing you might like is Rycote RY47302 Mic stand adapter, which can attach to a microphone stand. I hope I'm making sense!

A: Yes it is possible to purchase just the Lyre shock mount. You will find it on the B and H website with this part number B&H # RY41119.

A: Yes, the microphone quality was improved with the H1n.

Q: 10. what is the country of origin for this product? Needed for importing purposes.

A: There are three different products in this kit. The Zoom H1n is from China. Rode makes their products in Australia however, the SC3 adapter is from Taiwan.
