Protect your Sony a7 series camera with the CAMVATE C-Frame Cage for Sony a7 Series Camerasfrom CAMVATE. A solid aluminum C-frame makes up the core of this cage which has numerous 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting holes, a built-in cold shoe on the top arm, and an adjustable 1/4"-20 camera screw on the base arm. A single 3/8"-16 ARRI-standard mount hole is also provided on the top arm, and the cage clearance measures 3.54" to snugly hold your camera.

An adjustable rubber top handle attaches on the top arm, offers an additional cold shoe mount, and has several 1/4"-20 threaded holes for attachments. On the bottom, a quick release plate and 15mm rod clamp are included to attach the cage to a standard LWS 15mm rod system.

An Allen wrench and a flat head screwdriver are included for adjustments.

Q: 4. Curious whether this would work with an A7SII or A7S?

A: I use the Zacuto cage on my Sony A7SII, but the anchors for the camera strap eyes do not line up. You can only attach the bottom 1/4 20 screw to the cage. I find that sufficient.

A: While we are not aware of issues with past cages, this is a new item number from SmallRig. With any company new items improve upon the old models.

A: It does not cover the C1 and C2 buttons.

A: This cage has threadings underneath it. You should be able to mount it on top of BH #SM1798.

A: We're afraid not. This is a form fitting cage for the Sony A7III, A7RIII and A9 cameras. It will not for the A99II, which is a DSLR camera that has a different body type.
