[0.9 lb] I shoot mostly strobe or available light. This light was an addition to my kit so I can do more video work and it's been fantastic. I love that it fits profoto modifiers, it's compact size and output.


The app is solid and has some great features to change the color, intensity, saturation and effects of the light. One issue I had is that sometimes an effect will stop/time out and stop while in use. I found that I have to leave my phone on with the app open in order to prevent this.


I'll for sure be buying more in the future.

[8.5 x 8 x 7"] Had a chance to try out the 200-c and I was impressed with the quality of light and how seamlessly the app gives you control of all the full color settings. A big bonus was the ability to use pro photo accessories with this unit!

[Circular] This light is amazing!! Easy controls with fine adjustments to CCT, Hue, Saturation and dimming make it so I can match any environment. Also the strong colors are fun. Super light weight, so it's easy to travel with. Looking forward to trying the fresnel accessory.

[Circular] I picked up this light (6 of them) because I'm a photographer that wanted to get into shooting video. This light worked with all my Profoto light modifiers so my workflow could match how I shoot stills (and most importantly I didn't have to buy all new accessories). It works great! Surprisingly bright and sturdy. The body is made out of aluminum and the whole thing seems pretty bombproof. My primary concern with shooting with an LED was color quality but what sold me was the color science that went into it explained on their website. Feels like a future! Also, I can control all the lights from my iphone which is really nice. Also it changes colors if you're into that.

[Metal] This light is the best in the game, period. We have two of these lights that we use for every production, no questions asked. They're small and compact and are a must if you travel often for productions. It's portable and can fit in any pelican alongside the rest of your camera gear. One light with a chimera soft box can serve as the perfect key and/or fill, and the wide range of colors makes it really versatile for any interview environment.


Do be aware, it can overheat. We had one that had the o-ring around the LED on the front face melt off in a really humid interview environment. Hive quickly replaced it though, no questions asked.

[Circular] All the promises of LED technology manifested. It's bright, color-changing, portable, and doesn't get hot. It's surprisingly small and light for the output -- sans reflector it could almost be carried in a purse. Color rendition seems great, super easy to match to other sources or practicals. The controls (phone app!) make this plain old fun to use. It's quickly become my go-to key.

[0.9 lb] The color saturation and range on this unit is superb. I was blown away by the spectrum covered by this unit. In particular the super deep reds and blues where other LED units fall short. The controls are precise and you can dial in about any color imaginable.

The IP rating allows use in damp environments which is also a huge plus, not something you will find in many competing lamps or soft lights. I also like the fact that you can use profoto modifiers as necessary.

[Metal] Previously had reviewed this light but am unable to change my review.
I had complained about the clamp not tightening firmly.
I reached out to HIVE and they sent me new hardware for this known issue, and it has resolved my problem with the tilt control.
They also sent me a redesigned vent that makes the range of the wireless APP control range considerably further.

[8.5 x 8 x 7"] Using to mount ETC Source Four 26 Degree Mini Leko to Hornet 200 C. It is crazy how small this combo is. Super portable, but you do sacrifice output using the mini leko. If you need brighter light, get the full size leko. I own both, and use the right tool depending on the job. Need to travel light? Use the mini leko. Need more output? Use the standard leko.

[8.5 x 8 x 7"] So far so good on this light..A true 650w equivalent ..I like that I do not have to use gels anymore. I just ordered the 10 degree spot reflector to increase output and throw. One thing that could be improved is the bracket..sometimes when barn doors are on the light starts to pivot down and I have to adjust it..Over all pleased with it and may get another down the road..
