Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. what's the max camera weight when using this item?

A: 3 lbs.

Q: 2. What is the payload capacity of this mount?

A: The Oben Car Window Mount does not have a specified payload capacity, as the payload will depend on what the glass of the window can withstand.

Q: 3. How much weight will the Manfrotto 243 Car Window Pod support?

A: I have a 95 mm Swarovski with extender and angle eye peace its 5 lbs works great no issues

Q: 4. Can this mount be used with a Canon Rebel camera?

A: Yes. The Nikon Car Window Mount will work for the Canon Rebel camera or any 1/4"-20 mount camera.

Q: 5. Can it fit thru a door , I want to bring it inside my house

A: This particular product is the door only. it is part of the larger Stackit system. To construct a complete booth would require the 9 piece Gobo kit along with 4 x 4 booth kit.

Q: 6. can it on installments?

A: Unfortunately B&H does not currently offer any financing options.

Q: 7. Does it actually light up or do you have to add light to it? Is it just the soft box itself?

A: The Manfrotto Window Voile would be used for the Manfrotto 6 x 7' HiLite Softbox, which requires lighting to be inserted on both sides.

Q: 8. This may be a dumb question but... from the photo I see a tilt lock and a window clamp lock. Is there a pan lock and pan capability other than panning the device on the mounting screw? Is the handle for panning movement and is it also a lock?

A: The Nikon car window mount has full range of motion which permits viewing at any angle. There is a clamp lock which secures the mount to the window and there is a tilt lock which locks the tilt in the desired position. There is no need for a pan lock because it won't move position, and you would want the ability to quickly pan to a different position without having to first unlock it.

Q: 9. does this unit put a lot of stress on the glass? I am concerned that the glass may brake if using a big lens ? Thanks.

A: The stress on the glass depends on the camera + lens of choice, and the quality of glass being used. The clamp has a range up to 0.5" thickness for glass, but if using tempered glass try to stay within 3lbs-4lbs to avoid stress on the glass.

Q: 10. I have two of the Nikon 7070 car window mounts. Why can't I buy just the mounting plate so I can use multiple cameras ?

A: Nikon does not currently offer the quick release plate for the Nikon Car Window Mount separately at this time and does not have a recommended third party plate.

[0.5 lb] I have had a few of these a few weeks now and really like them. They are made of good material that seems like it will last. They worked great for the project I purchased them for and I look forward to using this one and others by Chimera in the future.

[0.5 lb] These are well made, easy to use, and a ton of fun. I particularly wanted the bubble and flare patterns. This is an easy way to up your creativity - particularly if you have a darker background to use.

[0.5 lb] This is my second most used window pattern from the Chimera Window Patterns Kit. I use it to light boring walls behind talent on interview shoots. I've got to confess I made my own cucoloris pattern using foam board and it looks downright creepy. Boris Karloff sort of stuff. So I broke down and purchased the Chimera patterns. I prefer the larger Chimera patterns when trying to add a splash to walls, the smallest patterns seem better suited to me for extremely small areas. I appreciate and stand behind the Chimera brand for their quality, portability as well as tried and true safety while on location. Great product. Recommended for anybody's kit.

[Mylar] I really enjoy the textures these masks create. I also bought the MagMod MagBeam Kit, but I've had more fun with the mask patterns in this set, so far.
