The Tiffen Series 9 Clear Coated Filteris a simple, clear filter designed for general protection for your lens. This optically clear filter does not affect the overall image quality while helping reduce dust, scratches, moisture, and other elements from damaging your lens. This filter is standard coated for helping to reduce flare and improve light transmission.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings. This filter is compatible with Series 9 filter holders.

A: Tiffen does not list the actua light transmission on the Tiffen 67mm Ultra Clear Digital HT Filter. But it is a clear filter and blacks almost no light.

A: Yes, so long as it is the same filter thread size. If you use an 82mm UV protective filter, you can use an 82mm ND.

Q: 5. Is this one TMC 1?

A: It does not appear to be a TMC 1 filter. Tiffen's TMC 1 filters only come in circular sizes with UV protection, not 4 x 5.65 square sizes.

[0.2 lb] I always add a Clear Filter to any lense makes protects it from dust and dirt. Also helps protect the lense from further if you accidentally drop it. Tiffen makes great Filters. 5

[Glass] If you spend thousands of dollars for a camera it makes NO sense to not spend a few extra bucks to protect the lens with a clear filter. Scratch the filter, get a new one. Scratch the lens and get a new one? Ouch. All four of my cameras have this filter. You need this. 5

[4.8 x 4.5 x 1"] I keep this filter on my 70-300 lens to protect the lens surface. Usually, I shoot in areas with a lot of dust/dirt/sand, so this gets the job done. 5
