Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What bit rates can it record? Will it go down to one megabit per second?

A: We have not heard such a request before. Please write to us with what you wish to do. provideo@bhphoto.com.

Q: 2. Does this monitor support touch focus control?

A: The Viltrox DC-X2 6" Touchscreen HD Monitor is for monitoring only and currently does not support features such as touch focus control, camera control, or external video recording.

Q: 3. Does this monitor have on the back where you can mount it to a monitor arm?

A: Yes. The monitor has VESA mounting capabilities expressed as 75mmx75mm, as well as 100mmx100mm.

Q: 4. Does this have a blue only calibration mode?

A: Delvcam 17.3" 1080p 3G-SDI/HDMI Rackmount LCD Monitor does allow you to adjust the color temperature, and you can create a "blue only" color temp by adjusting settings, there isn't a blue-only calibration mode per se with this monitor. You would need to remove the red and green from the image manually to achieve a blue-only image.

Q: 5. Can both the HDMI and SDI outputs be used simultaneously (to output the same signal)?

A: Yes, the Blackmagic Design DeckLink Mini Monitor HD HDMI and SDI outputs on the can be used simultaneously.

Q: 6. Does it support HD-SDI ? HDMI ?

A: This unit was the first reliable wireless video transmitter/receiver set made. As such, unfortunately it is only SDI, no HD and no HDMI. Today however, there are many such devices. Paralink or Teradek would be two brands to consider. Paralinx Triton 1:1 Wireless Video System B&H # PATR11 (HDMI only) or Teradek Bolt Pro 300 Wireless HD-SDI/HDMI Dual Format Video Transmitter/Receiver Set (Both HMI and HD-SDI) B&H # TE100930.

Q: 7. How do I power this device? Does it have batteries? Can it be powered from D tap source on my Steadicam sled?

A: This device comes with a different kind of power supply. However Transvideo does offer some different power solutions, which we do not have listed on our website. Please email us directly at provideo@a href= http://bhphoto.com target= _blank bhphoto.com/a with this question and we can further assist you in finding a solution.

Q: 8. What size of 12 v dc barrel? 5525 or 5521 ?

A: The Viltrox DC-X2 6" Touchscreen HD Monitor has a DC barrel size of Φ2.5 mm for its power input.

Q: 9. What type of wireless receiver is imbedded? Which transmitters will work?

A: The Transvideo Starlite HD-m 5" OLED SDI Monitor-Recorder with Metadata Agregator does not provide an embedded wireless receiver. That will be the ARRI Transvideo Starlite ARRI-WVS 5" Monitor/Recorder/Receiver, which accepts ARRI Wireless Video Transmitter WVT-1, Basic Set, or use of the Transvideo StarliteRF-a Deluxe Kit with Starlite-RFa Monitor, a Titan-HD2 Receiver & Two Transmitters. Q: 10. Will this Viltrox monitor record video that includes the settings in my camera view finder like shutterspeed, iso and histogram?

A: No, the Viltrox DC-550 5.5" HD Monitor is not capable of recording. If you want a monitor that can record, I recommend the Atomos Ninja 5.2" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor (BH #ATNINJA). To record the display overlays you would have to make sure your camera has the ability to output display overlays via HDMI.

[138 ppi] Can't say enough great things about this monitor. The brightness, the ease of use, the buttons...it's perfect. Heads up, if you've got an FX30, the display window on the camera will be black once you plug it in. But that hasn't been a problem at all. Highly recommend with the additional purchase of a Magic Arm!

[960 x 540] I wear these constantly, to listen to music and DVDs and to block out unwanted noise. I chose them first and foremost for their sound reproduction: the frequency range, approximately 12 Hz to 38MHz, if I remember correctly, is almost unparalleled. (For some strange and very mistaken--okay, stupid--reason, B&H no longer has complete specifications for these headphones.) You'll just have to take my word for it, the sound is terrific, and the more demanding the music (e.g., heavy-duty, industrial-strength classical or opera, the music of Jim Steinman, Sylvester Levay, Ennio Morricone, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, many Russian and Eastern European composers, the more Sennheiser's HD 25 headphones demonstrate their superiority. As far as the minor considerations go, yes, these are very lightweight but seem to be well-made and sturdy; they are comfortable; they stay on one's head well, the ear cushions are comfortable and block outside noise well. In short, I have no complaints about the HD 25 headphones. The sound reproduction is, or should be, the primary consideration when purchasing headphones. These will not disappoint.

[LCD] I have a shinobi monitor also and this kicks it out of the water.

At this price point you're getting a metal build plus a fan and 2000nits (plus a sunshade/battery/case). That's insane.

My only gripe with the monitor is that the touchscreen is a little weird to work with. BUT, there are programmable hotkeys (that are actually better than most other touchscreen interfaces when you need to toggle displays on the fly) so that negate this negative. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THIS FUNCTION AS IT HAS BECOME MY FAVOURITE FEATURE OF THIS MONITOR OVER ATOMOS MONITORS.

The fan is loud-ish on HIGH, but you can turn it off or turn it down to low during takes.

I use SmallRig NP-F970 batteries and one lasted me about 6 hours on 100% screen brightness.

TLDR: The thing is built like a tank with a fan, insane brightness, and hotkeys. It also comes with a ton of accessories you'd be paying a la carte for with most other brands.
