Q: 2. what's the mic weight limit on this?

A: This is a very well,, robustly made and constructed mirophone adapter. Maximum Recommended Weight Capacity: 5 kg. / 11 lb. We feel it is over-engineered and will support microphones like the Shure SM7B or Electro-Voice RE20 quite easily. Even a heavyweight like the AEA Ribbon Mics R44CX (7.56 lbs) is supported with no problem. We simply have not met the microphone that this adapter cannot handle.

Q: 3. The Kali IN-5-C already comes with a backing plate almost identical to this. But Kali say the original IN-5 is not suitable for wall mounting. So is this for the original IN5 or not?

My booms have two pound counter weights and I generally use these stands for some very heavy and expensive condenser Mics. Does this adapter hold firmly and securely with no worry of vibration due to a loose or even slightly wobbly connection ? Because these 7/8 diameter mic stand setups weigh over twenty pounds total, I would like to be able to achieve rapid setup and takedown that they may also serve as stage performance stands. I realize that my question is lengthy. But, I think that the information given should be considered when looking to purchase a 40$ adapter. Thank you.

A: Yes. They are compatible. The IO-H2 5/8" Mounting Head from Triad-Orbit allows you to integrate 5/8" threaded gear to one of their IO-equipped stands or mounts, and is designed for added weight handling capacity.

[Extension] I absolutely love these quick releases! Very solid build-quality, and absolutely zero wiggle, or rattling noises, once fully engaged and tightened down. They come lightly lubricated, and individually wrapped in their own plastic resealable bags. A nice aesthetic touch if you ask me. Unfortunately, those bags do tear rather easily, which feels a tad wasteful, but I don't imagine that will be a really issue for anyone. No 5/8 to 3/8, or any other size, adapters are included. This was a non-issue for me, but I thought it might be worth mentioning. 5

[Black] I provide sound for a variety of bands, and these quick-release couplers save a lot of time. They are very well built and provide a solid, tight fitting between the mic and stand. They add a couple of inches to the stand (or boom), but so far this hasn't presented any problems; in fact, the slightly longer booms come in handy from time to time when you need a little extra reach (like rigging vocals for a grand piano). It would be nice if the separately available mounting heads (IO-H) were also available in a lower-priced multipack. Purchased individually they cost 75% of the entire assembly. 5

[Extension] Beautiful fit and finish as all Triad-Orbit products. Works alone as low stand for camera/light/mic. Mounts from above or below via attachment holes. Bottom includes thin rubber layer to provide isolation from desk, table, floor, wall, ceiling or whatever it is attached. I plan to buy more. Very adaptable attachment. I have a beautiful piece of tropical hardwood that I plan to attach to the bottom to provide more stability for my desk mic stand, and attached a Triad-Orbit IO-A1 Extendable Boom Arm, it fits perfectly on my desk. It looks great! I record Kirtan music where the musicians sit on the floor and it has proven very useful in this application. I have used it with a Wildtronics Pro Mini Parabolic Mic to make bird and ambiance field recordings in Costa Rica. It travels well. 5
