The Miller CX2 Head & 75 Sprinter II Carbon Fiber Tripod with Caseis designed to accommodate a wide payload range with 16 steps of counterbalance. Pan, tilt, and counterbalance can all be set to zero, enabling even the lightest of cameras to be supported. Maxed out, this head is rated to support camera setups up to 17.5 pounds, suitable for a DSLR or mirrorless camera rig, a smaller cinema camera, or a small ENG camcorder. Securing your camera or rig is easy. The sideload plate design enables you to simply drop in your camera without the alignment issues posed by rear-loading variations. The plate offers 2.4" of sliding range to balance your rig.

To survive fast-paced shooting environments, the CX2 is die-cast from a lightweight, yet durable metal alloy with composite polymers and precision ball-bearings for smooth mechanical operation. Even in harsh conditions, the CX2 will perform reliably. The base of the CX2 is a 75 ball for mounting to compatible tripods and grip equipment. An illuminated bubble level makes it easy to level the CX2 in dark environments. A pan handle with a 15.4" fixed length is included and a second rosette is incorporated for attaching an optional second pan handle.

A: Yes it will be. This tripod has a 22 pound or 10kg load capacity. It will work well with your set up if it is only 4.9kg.

Also, on Miller Sticks I have a Sachtler DV6 head. I measured about 33 from the head to the feet. I'm guessing a 35 tripod case would be fine. Q: 4. have got the original ACE in aluminium legs. Can i purchase this carbon fibre legs separately for use with the ace fluid head i currently have on the aluminium version?

A: Hi, unfortunately not. Thee CF legs only come in the Ace L system package. But you can go for the 75 mm SpeedLock tripod.

Q: 5. Does this tripod come with a strap? If not, does it come with the rings to attach a strap?

A: Yes, This Miller tripod kit comes with an included strap.

Q: 6. Is it easy to take the spreader off the legs?

A: yes, it is connected via rubber straps

Q: 7. Is this too beefy for a c100 mii? Or would I be better off with Ace L?

A: I don't think its beefy. Once I got the balance right it works well with a DVX-200. So depending on your rig I think it will be fine. It's super smooth and not overly complicated. It kinda gives you that Ace L feel but in a smaller and lighter package which is simple to set sticks and shoot. It gives you the feel of a Ace L under a grand, you really can't go wong..or wrong rather :)

Q: 8. Can you attach a 2nd pan bar to this new model?

A: The Sachtler 75/2 Mark II Carbon Fiber Tripod System with Ace XL Head & Mid-Level Spreader does not have a rosette in order to mount a second pan bar. The Sachtler 75/2 Mark II Carbon Fiber Tripod System with FSB 4 Fluid Head & Ground Spreader, BH #SA0381C, does have a second rosette which would allow for a 2nd pan bar.

A: yes, please remove the Sachtler logo plate on the left side of the head

A: The Manfrotto 526 has a 100mm ball base and the Miller 1580 Sprinter II has a 100mm bowl. They will match perfectly.

[75 mm Half Ball] I bought this a few years back to use with my Panasonic HVX200a. Works like a dream. I do a lot of short form documentary production, and this Miller is perfect. The carbon fiber construction indeed makes the unit very light. I carried it while backpacking around Western Europe for a month, and it was fantastic. Very quick to setup and breakdown. I also like how low to the ground I can get with the concentric leg angle locks. The bag is very high quality as well. All around it is a very rugid product, which is perfect for my documentary productions. Those Australians can sure make a tripod. At this price point, this Miller is your best choice. 5

[8.6 lb] Great tripod. Light. Secure lock. Could not ask for better. Like it better than Sachlers since I hate the spreader. Used big Manfrotto's in the past. No comparison. Own a Gitzo as well, which is close to Miller but still like Miller. Will buy Miller again if I need another one. 5

[Fluid Head] This thing is a beast. I can't get over how well it's designed. I have Bogen tripods that are twice the weight and seem flimsy. This thing is light and solid as a rock. The head is smooth as silk. I originally ordered this tripod because of it's ability to set low to the ground (so I could use it with my Indislider), but now I am replacing all my Bogen tripods with this beast. Bogen = a piece of junk compared to this rig. Worth every penny, trust me. 5

[75 mm Half Ball] The DS-10 is light, the head action very smooth, the tripod is quick to set up and tear down. Let the legs out gently, though. One of the coolest things about the DS-10 is how low it goes: there's just enough clearance so the leveling handle isn't on the ground. In that configuration, it looks like a three-legged spider. So you can easily get extremely low shots on a fluid head, and the rubber feet let you stick it in the middle of a long, expensive board room table without leaving a mark. Lack of a spreader makes them hard to sandbag, which is where lightness can cause trouble. We've rented DS-20's as well. Bigger, heavier, not quite as flexible but able to handle larger loads. 5
