The Miller CX2 Head 75 Sprinter II Carbon Fiber Tripod Caseis designed to accommodate a wide payload range with 16 steps of counterbalance. Pan, tilt, and counterbalance can all be set to zero, enabling even the lightest of cameras to be supported. Maxed out, this head is rated to support camera setups up to 17.5 pounds, suitable for a DSLR or mirrorless camera rig, a smaller cinema camera, or a small ENG camcorder. Securing your camera or rig is easy. The sideload plate design enables you to simply drop in your camera without the alignment issues posed by rear-loading variations. The plate offers 2.4" of sliding range to balance your rig.

To survive fast-paced shooting environments, the CX2 is die-cast from a lightweight, yet durable metal alloy with composite polymers and precision ball-bearings for smooth mechanical operation. Even in harsh conditions, the CX2 will perform reliably. The base of the CX2 is a 75 ball for mounting to compatible tripods and grip equipment. An illuminated bubble level makes it easy to level the CX2 in dark environments. A pan handle with a 15.4" fixed length is included and a second rosette is incorporated for attaching an optional second pan handle.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this tripod come with a strap? If not, does it come with the rings to attach a strap?

A: Yes, This Miller tripod kit comes with an included strap.

Q: 2. Is the Miller 1580 tripod legs compatible with the Manfrotto 526 head?

A: The Manfrotto 526 has a 100mm ball base and the Miller 1580 Sprinter II has a 100mm bowl. They will match perfectly.

Q: 3. have got the original ACE in aluminium legs. Can i purchase this carbon fibre legs separately for use with the ace fluid head i currently have on the aluminium version?

A: Hi, unfortunately not. Thee CF legs only come in the Ace L system package. But you can go for the 75 mm SpeedLock tripod.

Q: 4. Would this tripod work well with a mediumly rigged FS7 + Sony 18-110mm zoom lens?

A: This tripod has a 22 pound load capacity. It will depend on what is in your full rig, but it is certainly possible to use this with an FS7 depending on all of the other accessories you have. You will just need to keep the load at or below 22 pounds.

Q: 5. Does this come with a shoulder strap?

A: No sorry, this does not come with a shoulder strap. At 14lbs and 34 , it is really too big for use with one. When you need to move, collapse it and hold it to your shoulder. When you have finished shooting, use a case, (with wheels if you like) to transport it.

Q: 6. Please let me know which Miller tripod case comes with this tripod Miller Air Carbon Fiber Tripod System B&H # MI3005 MFR # 3005I don't see a link. Also, on Miller Sticks I have a Sachtler DV6 head. I measured about 33 from the head to the feet. I'm guessing a 35 tripod case would be fine. That's why I would like ton know which Miller tripod case this is? I have the same Miller Sticks as I mentioned above. Thank you Jimmy

A: For future reference, please look under the Accessories tab for Bags & Cases. Of the seven we offer, I would suggest these based on economy to best choice to luxury. For budget: Ruggard Deluxe Padded 35 Tripod Case (Black) B&H # RUBD3035. For rugged airplane travel: SKB Roto-Molded Tripod Case with Wheels (37 Tall) B&H # SK1SKBR3709W For luxury: Porta Brace TLQB-39XT Quick Tripod/Light Case (Black) B&H # POTLQB39XT.

Q: 7. Are there other accessory mounting options besides using the Miller Air Accessory Mounting Block on the Miller Air Carbon Fiber Tripod?

A: At this time the the Miller Air Accessory Mounting Block is the only known accessory that can be attached. The size of the attachment screw is not known; probably it is a metric size. You can consider articulating arms with a clamp. Here is one suggestion: GyroVu Adjustable Clamp with Heavy Duty 11 Articulated Arm Monitor Mount B&H # GYGVCM11H Note: it is special order.

Q: 8. Does this come with a mid-level spreader and rubber feet?

A: The Miller Sprinter II 2-Stage Carbon Fiber Tripod (Mid-Level Spreader Ready) does come with rubber feet, but not a mid-level spreader. The compatible mid-level spreader would be the Miller 993 Mid-level Spreader, BH #MI993.

Q: 9. Can you attach a 2nd pan bar to this new model?

A: The Sachtler 75/2 Mark II Carbon Fiber Tripod System with Ace XL Head & Mid-Level Spreader does not have a rosette in order to mount a second pan bar. The Sachtler 75/2 Mark II Carbon Fiber Tripod System with FSB 4 Fluid Head & Ground Spreader, BH #SA0381C, does have a second rosette which would allow for a 2nd pan bar.

Q: 10. What is the lowest height that this tripod will go?

A: The lower the 1589 Sprinter II will go is 26.4 .

[8.6 lb] The DS-10 is light, the head action very smooth, the tripod is quick to set up and tear down. Let the legs out gently, though. One of the coolest things about the DS-10 is how low it goes: there's just enough clearance so the leveling handle isn't on the ground. In that configuration, it looks like a three-legged spider. So you can easily get extremely low shots on a fluid head, and the rubber feet let you stick it in the middle of a long, expensive board room table without leaving a mark. Lack of a spreader makes them hard to sandbag, which is where lightness can cause trouble. We've rented DS-20's as well. Bigger, heavier, not quite as flexible but able to handle larger loads.

[75 mm Half Ball] I use this tripod with my Canon 60D and camera accessories. The head can comfortably deal with a little weight over 10lbs, but not a ton more. Personally, I like the aluminum legs better than the carbon fiber. In a short time, the tripod has been in mud, rain, and it has worked great. Used the Scarlett on it a week ago and the weight was not an issue. Totally smooth pan and tilt. Great locks. Do yourself a favor and get more than one camera plate. This way you won't have to keep swapping it from one camera to another.
