The Leitz Cine Zoom 25-75mm Lens PL Mount Feetfeatures a PL mount and focus scales marked in feet. This zoom lens has an image circle that covers the VistaVision format, so it will easily cover full-frame sensors. Featuring a parfocal design and a T2.8 aperture throughout its zoom range, the lens holds focus throughout the zoom and does not ramp exposure as you get to the extremes of the range. The lens design also reduces the breathing and image shift sometimes encountered while zooming and focusing. It is color-matched to Leitz primes for seamless intercutting between the lenses.

The 15-bladed iris produces attractive bokeh in out-of-focus areas, with naturalistic-looking round out-of-focus highlights. The focus, iris, and zoom control rings have cine-style 0.8 MOD gears, and the focus ring features approximately 270 degrees of rotation. The 25 to 75mm zoom features a 114mm front diameter common to many cinema-style matte boxes. The lens has a built-in support foot with a 3/8"-16 threaded mounting hole that helps support the lens with the aid of an optional 3/8"-16 rod-mounted lens support (not included).

A: Lens will work just like any "M" series unit offering a full frame 35mm coverage. The only difference is this is not a photo lens but an actual cine lens.

Q: 2. The Red Weapon Helium s35 8K FF has a 33.8mm image circle. If the Leica Summicron C 18mm has a 36mm image circle do we loose any of the image when using this lens on this camera?

A: You are correct on the numbers of both image circles. Since all that is needed is a lens image circle that is bigger than the sensor image circle, you are good to go in this instance.

[Yes] I've had this lens for a while now and can say it's my favorite lens. Canon fixed the biggest issue I had which was a warm color shift on the 17-120. No color shifts on this lens! Flip on the built in extender and the lens can be ready for full frame. It's really the perfect lens for reality, sports, doc and most everything else. 5

[ARRI PL] I own the Tokina 11-20 and 50-135 and this lens is the perfect lens to complete the set or to own on it's own. I find it sharper than the other two lenses (although the 50-150 is nice and sharp) and unlike some other brands it can be used wide open at T2.9 (not too soft). Beautiful build, no focus breathing that I saw. 5

[Imperial] I've been looking at these lenses for over a year now, and finally being able to get my hands on one has brought such a next level image to my projects. I've only used it on a couple projects so far, but I think it's great. The parafocal ability is so great, and the lens' rings and gears are so smooth. The focal distance ring seems to have a little more resistance when moving it, but it's not a hinderance to its use. When focusing in or out, the focus breathing seems to be nonexistent and is sooooo smooth. Specifically with the image that you get out of this lens, I think it has a wonderful amount of character/softness to the amount of sharpness. One reason I've moved over to cinema lenses is that they're not as clinical or sharp as my photography lenses, and they give my video a much more personal look and feel. But when it comes to some commercial work, my original cine lenses can be a bit too soft at a T 2.0. But this Laowa Ranger gives me the right amount of sharpness and character to use on just about any project, and having this in my daily camera rig just eliminates the hassle of switching out lenses to get the look I'm going for. I know this review isn't very technical, but if you're a first time buyer of cinema zoom lenses, this is an incredible place to start and you won't regret it. 5

[ARRI PL] This thing is a tank. The one downside is how heavy it is, but personally I'll take the extra 2 lbs for this amazing focal length range. Built to last a lifetime. We've put this through hell over the past 12+ months and it's still rock solid. Would buy again, no questions. 5
