Super wide-angle prime is designed for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, however can also be used with APS-C models where it provides a 21mm equivalent focal length.

Three aspherical elements are incorporated in the optical design to control spherical aberrations for increased clarity and resolution from edge to edge.

Two extra-low dispersion glass elements work to reduce chromatic aberrations; improve overall image sharpness, clarity, and color fidelity; and help to minimize the overall weight of the lens.

An Ultra Multi-Coating has been applied to individual elements in order to reduce flare and ghosting for increased contrast and a neutral color balance.

The integrated autofocus motor provides quick, accurate, and precise AF control. Manual focus override is also available for refining your focus position.

Rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a smooth and pleasing bokeh quality.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this lens the same as the Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC Lens for Sony E-Mount besides this lens having AF and the one I mentioned not having AF?

A: We know of no direct comparisons of these two lenses. So our opinion is that while optically they will be similar, perhaps even identical, we would recommend the newer AF version in that it will incorporate not only AF but better, more modern build quality.

Q: 2. Is this lens compatible with my Canon Rebel XSI DSLR? I’m looking for a quality beginner wise angled lens where I can practice astrophotography and shooting the Milky Way. I need my lens selection to be a good choice under my conditions.

A: Yes this lens is compatible with the XSi. It is a great option for astro photography as it has low coma aberration. Coma aberration is when the stars look like arrows instead of dots in the corner of the photo.

Q: 3. Does this lens have image stablization?

A: This lens does not have image stabilization.

Q: 4. is this lens compatible with the NIkon D750???

A: Yes, the Rokinon AF 14mm f/2.8 Lens for Nikon F would be compatible with the Nikon D750 DSLR camera body. The lens has an F-Mount Lens/FX Format.

Q: 5. Will this lens work on a Canon 7d?

A: This lens is for the Canon RF mount; no, it will not work on an EF mount camera such as the 7D.

Q: 6. Can you switch to manual focus on this lens?

A: Yes, you can! In the camera setup.

Q: 7. Is the glass on this lens rated high enough for an A7rii?

A: We would need to wait for the lens to be released before we would know what the resolving power of the lens might be, and whether or not it would be up to the standards of the a7R II. That being said, there are plenty of reviews for the non-AF Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 where a7R II users have said they were happy with the results achieved with that lens.

Q: 8. how do you set this lens to infinity focus?

A: To manually focus the Rokinon AF 14mm f/2.8 Lens for Canon EF to infinity you turn the focus ring to the right. You have to find infinity. The lens has a focus-by-wire design and there is no feedback, beep, or change in resistance as you turn the focus ring past the infinity limi. The ring will keep turning but at some point the lens stops changing focus.

Q: 9. Is infinity focus on this lens right at the "end" of the focus ring? or does the user have to "find infinity" just shy of the end of the range?

A: Infinity focus would be closer to the right at the end of the focusing ring.

Q: 10. would this work on the Sony a7RIV? i heard there were issues of it being soft due to the body has a high resolution.

A: Yes, no issues with the A7R4.

[Full-Frame] Just got this lens as a B-day gift to myself in August. Only had it out a few times. Intended to use it for Astro photography, but it should work nicely for landscape. Will have to play a bit in post production to lens correct.

[f/2.8] Typically I don't review the many things I've bought from B&H, believing that so many folks buy the same things that my nickel's worth wouldn't be that useful.

However, this lens is likely not quite so common. I initially bought a cheaper 14 mm f 2.8 and found it badly wanting in sharpness. B&H allowed me to return it and issued a prompt refund { one big Atta Boy, B&H }.

I bought this Rokinon and am very glad I did - it is incredibly sharp, has a good build and feel - AND has a well-functioning Auto Focus - seldom seen in other lenses with these specs.

When I first opened the box I put it on my Canon 5D Mk IV, aimed far down the street to take some sample, random photos, and every feature on every house far down the block came in crystal clear and sharp. I'm a 'happy guy'.

Nice lens, for sure.

[f/22] This lens is everything that it claims to be. It works on both full frame (A7) and crop sensor(a6000). It is Sharpe and fast.

[7, Rounded] Can't say enough about this lens. Love the ultra wide angle lens. Love the auto focus which is fast, quiet, and accurate. Produces nice sharp ultra wide images. One of my favorite lens, and can't be happier with my purchase.

[1.48 lb] I use this for real estate. It’s resolution is amazing and is wide enough to capture almost any room. It does have lens distortion around the edges, but nothing that can’t be cleaned up in LightRoom.

[Autofocus] This review is for the Rokinon AF 14mm f/2.8 Lens for Nikon F attached to an FTZ adapter on a Nikon Z 7II camera. The auto focus worked well when I tested it and I used manual focus for my landscape and Milky Way photography. Attached are the two Milky Way photos that I took recently using f/2.8, ISO 6400 and 25 sec exposure with a tripod (no star tracker). Both photos were post processed the same way to bring out colors, shadow, highlight, etc. without other editing. Overall, I am happy with the Rokinon AF 14mm f/2.8 Lens for Nikon F on the Nikon Z 7II with the FTZ adapter for landscape and Milky Way photography.

[Autofocus] At 14mm with the price I think Rokinon is the best. I use this lense for pictures and for my gimbal with 5dm4. I get good stuff for my clientele.

[f/2.8] It works well, really like the extra wide angle I get from my 14mm. I have a Sony a9 and Sony A7rIII. It allows me, for a very reasonable price, to have one of my cameras as a fixed wide angle and the other flexible, with the 17-28mm f/2.8.
