[Carbon Fiber] I needed a good monopod for shooting with my 70-200 while standing on a stepstool. Most of the monopods for sale don’t reach a high enough height for my needs, so I went to the B&H store to see the options in person. The salesman knew exactly how the other brands performed, and I’d already narrowed my choices between this one, and a Manfrotto pro unit. The Ifootage had similar features, but was not only sturdier, but less money. I bought this unit, and a Benro triple action ball head to fit on top. The combination of the two items worked fantastic for my needs, and I used the setup just hours later while shooting a NYFW event. I couldn’t be happier with this monopod.
It comes in a great bag too. Unfortunately the head has to come off the monopod to put it in the bag, but the quick release unit on the monopod makes it all easy to remove, and replace.

[Tripod] Solid build, very light and portable. Detachable tripod is awesome for getting those low shots. I love it.

[Carbon Fiber] Yes, you can actually mount a camera to this monopod without worrying about it falling over. The big feet, carbon fiber body and quick locks make this monopod easy to carry, set up, and use. I had a Sony a7S3 with a Sigma 24-70 lens mounted - using iFootage's fluid head - and it was steady and stable at eye level. Amazing! Just make sure that no one is around to bump into it.

[4.66 lb] On the recommendation of Jordan Drake (yes, thatjordandrake), I purchased the iFootage Cobra 3 Carbon Fiber Monopod unseen. The carbon fiber weight saving is insignificant, but carbon fiber will not stick to flesh in subfreezing weather, unlike aluminum. The tripod base will support the monopod and head standing alone if the ball socket at the base is properly tensioned, but one should not risk leaving the monopod unattended with an expensive camera mounted on top. The sliding red ring locks at both ends allow the monopod to be disassembled and reconfigured, but require two strong hands to operate, not a thumb and finger. A Manfrotto 209 Tabletop Tripod is more pocketable and convenient for lightweight low angle work than the iFootage mini tripod base. B&H having delisted the matching iFootage heads, I purchased my Cobra 3 with the Manfrotto 234RC Tilt Head. Safely manipulating a ball&socket head with a camera on a monopod is a three hand operation; an up-and-down tilt head is easier to manage. iFootage also provides a hex key to adjust the clamp tension, but my Cobra 3 was perfectly adjusted out of the box. Altogether, the Cobra 3 is a well-made, versatile, and functional product. Highly recommended.

[2] Impressed with this monopod for its versatility and quick release options. I use it with a 70-200 mm lens and several Sony mirrorless cameras and it's great for stability. Will absolutely handle larger lenses than that. The legs can detach from the monopod to be used as a hi-hat tripod for low angle shooting, which I love. Very uniquely and intelligently designed.

[Tripod] Much of my photography is done without a tripod or monopod. Recently had the opportunity to use this monopod with the tripod base and it worked well. Do think that this is a good design and perfect if you are not constantly walking and shooting photos. When I have the opportunity, I will try my binoculars out on it. Pleasantly surprised.

[2] This monopod is truly lightweight and offers up lots of options as to its use and flexibility.

[4.66 lb] It has to be the best steady cam that ever existed. And arrive in perfect condition but I wished you had the carbon fibre version in the first place.
