The Burris Optics 5.5-30x56 XTR III MAD Riflescope SCR MOAis designed for precision long-range shooting in all light conditions, with their proprietary Modular Adjustment Dial (MAD) turret system that allows you to order custom turret knobs to make the scope truly your own. This model ships with a standard exposed tactical elevation turret knob that gives you fast and full access to the wide adjustment range and a capped low-profile windage knob. Burris includes a low tactical windage knob if you require or want to have fast access to the windage adjustment, and you can order laser-etched custom dials calibrated to your rifle's specific ammunition and load so your ballistic drop is as accurate as possible.

Optically the XTR III comes with a powerful zoom mechanism to bring the magnification from a low 5.5x for mid-range varmint hunting to a powerful 30x that will allow you to reach out to extreme distances when going after large game across the wide expanses of the American West. Its massive 56mm objective draws in the large amounts of light required to keep views bright and clear when viewing targets at extreme long ranges with the magnification dialed up to maximum, or in challenging light conditions such as at dawn and dusk. Complementing the objective size are index-matched multicoatings that are engineered specifically for the lens glass to maximize light transmission and deliver bright high-contrast views at all magnifications.

To get you precisely on-target the windage and elevation turrets have impact point corrections of 1/4 MOA per click with 55 MOA of adjustment range on the windage and an exceptional 90 MOA on the elevation that speaks to its longer range capabilities. The reticle is specifically designed for precision shooting at the competition level, with an array of hashmarks on all axes to give you the tools you need to get precisely on-target. To improve shot precision and ease of use it is located on the front (first) focal plane so when the magnification of the scope is increased, the reticle's proportional size to the view changes as you increase or decrease magnification—so the reticle's subtensions remain constant throughout the entire zoom range, eliminating the need to do time-consuming calculations.

[5.5 to 30x] Very fond of this scope, I have five of these mounted on several of my match rifles. The glass is clear, the turrets sure and stiff, tracks well, an abundance of internal adjustment, a wide the field of view with great edge to edge clarity. The locking diopter ring is a great touch. Great glass, wide ranging parallax adjustment and uncluttered reticle makes these great for shooting close-up to well past 1000 yards.

[Aluminum] Purchased my first one when Eurooptics had them on close-out. Upon opening the box I could feel the quality, solid, with a great feel. Mounted on one of my match ARs, added the throw lever and took it to the range. The glass was clear, the turrets are stiff and have well defined clicks, the locking ring on the diopter was a nice surprise. After sighting it in, I did a 3 mil box, made a perfect square, returning to zero perfectly. The parallax adjustment allows for close shots and the glass makes 1000 yards easy. Comparing it to my Vortex Viper Gen II 5-25x50 MRAD FFP, the XTR III is better in every way. Liked it so much I purchased 4 more and have them on several of my match guns. When Eurooptics ran out of these, I purchased a newer illuminated version, it’s nice as well, though I prefer this model.
