Improving on the performance of their earlier model, the Vixen Optics PF-L II Polarie 5x20 Polar Scopesteps down the magnification from 6x to make the reticle easier to see and more readable—resulting in a more accurate alignment and thus more precise tracking. An illuminated star field reticle clearly shows the star pattern around the Northern pole, and to polar align your scope, simply line up the three stars on the reticle with the three corresponding stars in the sky. Vixen eliminated the hour angle and instead utilizes a companion Android or iOS smartphone app for a more streamlined experience. Powered by one included CR2032 battery, the reticle is illuminated in red to preserve night-adjusted vision with eight selectable brightness levels and auto-off after two minutes. The Polarie's simplified reticle and usage make this an essential accessory to your compatible Vixen equatorial mount.

A: Unfortunately it will only fit the current Advanced clamp. If you need a replacement lever for your older mount I would recommend that you contact Vixen directly.

[7°] Bought this polar meter to use with my recent purchase of the vixen polarie star tracker.... so easy to align with the north star, buy one of these if you want easy alignment with polarie star... mind you later on I will purchase the polar scope... 5

[20 mm] This is exactly what I needed--a simple, effective, and portable star tracker at a decent price. Yes, it fits in the bag nicely. The device is very well built. No messing with WiFi connections in the dark and cold as my other tracker requires. There are some trade-offs in terms of carrying capacity and longer exposures are difficult. It is the right balance of attributes for me. Money well spent. 5

[7°] It is working perfectly. No accurate polar alignment is required. Rough polar alignment through the peep hole is fine for focal length from 14mm - 105mm with 30” to 120” exposure. I feel it can push to 105mm and 180” exposure with no problem. 200mm focal length with 120” exposure is acceptable, no obvious star trailing is seen. But considering this is done with NO polar scope, I think it’s fantastic. It is so small that it fits into my camera bag easily. Use only 2 AA batteries. Look and feel good. Expensive but well worth it. 5
