Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is the lens hood removable?

A: Yes, it is

Q: 2. Hi, I would like to use this lens with an Olympus OM EM5. Can you tell me whether the auto-focus will work with this camera? Thanks

A: Yes, the Panasonic Lumix G Fisheye 8mm/F3.5 Lens would autofocus on the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mirrorless Digital Camera.

Q: 3. What size gel filter does this len's filter holder use?

A: The Panasonic Lumix G Fisheye 8mm f/3.5 Lens is a fisheye lens. And like most do not have any filter threads. You can attach a gel filter on the back of the lens which is around 2.39 inches in diameter. So a 3 inch or larger will work and then you need to cut it down to size.

Q: 4. Am I blind? I don't see an aperture ring on the lens. How do I manually set?

A: The aperture is set through the body of the camera and not from the lens. Mostly all new digital lenses apertures are controlled through the camera.

Q: 5. will this work on my Nikon d3200?

A: It should work fine with your D3200 - I have been using it with mine, and I like the lens very much.

Q: 6. Will this lense fit a Canon EOS 1100D Rebel T3 camera

A: The Rokinon 8mm Ultra Wide Angle f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Canon EF Mount is compatible with the Canon EOS Rebel T3.

Q: 7. Is this lens compatible with a canon 700d?

A: Yes. The Canon 700D is a Rebel series camera. The Rebel series Canon cameras are compatible with all Canon mount lenses, EF adn EF-S

Q: 8. Has anyone used this lens on the DJI X5?

A: An end user can mount a Panasonic Lumix G Fisheye 8mm f/3.5 Lens B&H # PA835 MFR # H-F008 on a DJI Zenmuse X5 Camera and 3-Axis Gimbal B&H # DJZMX5 MFR # CP.BX.000099. The Micro 4/3rd mount is compatible.

Q: 9. So is this lens supposed to be used with full frame cameras? will it still work with a fixed Canon 60D?

A: As long as your camera has the EF mount... If you are used to the stock canon lens options that auto adjust for you, this lens is manual adjust only, but is very easy to use... Its a great choice, I love mine.

Q: 10. how to apply ND filtering to this lens?

A: I never applied filter to this lens. So I can't answer this question.

[180°] I'm using this lens on an E-P3, and the results I have obtained are nothing short of amazing. Chromatic aberrations are extremely well controlled, even when shooting subjects against the sun, and the distortion isn't extreme - just right for a fisheye for my taste. The lens is extremely sharp and very compact, macro capability is amazing for a fisheye. If you're a fisheye enthusiast and are on the micro 4/3 platform, I definitely would not hesitate to buy this lens. A similar quality dslr lens costs twice to three times more...

[Autofocus] It came between this lens for my beloved GH3 and the Century Extreme fisheye for my HPX170. Besides the obvious $2000 price difference, this lens is a no brainer if you're looking into a m4/3 fisheye. There is zero vingetteing on this which was a huge plus for me. That's the one downfall of the Century Extreme, other than the hefty price. This lens looks just as good if not better without the dreaded outer rings.. Many of us are coming from a skateboard videography background and miss the days of the vx1000 and Century death lens. Many have upgraded to HD and are struggling to find a fisheye similar in look to the death lens and have many complaints in general. In my opinion this is as good as it gets if that's the look you're looking for.Auto focus is fast and precise and this dreamy light lens. I haven't tried the rear sheet filter option yet but plan on it at some point. Personally I'm ok with the 3.5 iris, fisheye's aren't typically sought out for their shallow depth of field ha. I've also been using it for landscape itmelapses and it's blast. The barrel distortion perspective can easily be removed in post if undesirable, keeping it ultra wide.Couldn't be happier, I foresee a very long run with this gem!

[0.2x] Great product, use it for unique wide angle shots - landscapes, product shots and architecture.

[Autofocus] Main reason I bought it was to shoot and film skateboarding. I come from using the Death Lense, so my expectations were high... Ended up happier than I thought I would be.

[f/3.5] This is a fantastic lens! I'm a long time Canon shooter, and used most of wide-angles in Canon lineup over the years. None of them had a wow factor in sharpness this little guy has. Chromatic abberations are non-existant, and flare is well-controlled. Couple this with a tiny size, and this lens is a winner! A lot more spherical panoramas are in my future...

[f/3.5] I first bought the Samyang 7.5mm f3.5 fisheye. But since I do a lot of close-up with my kids, I needed AF since they move a lot. On my Olympus E-M1, the focus is fast in good light, and a little bit slower when the lightning is dimmer. The lens is very sharp in the center wide opened. And at f5.6 and above, it is sharp corner to corner. It can flare a lot but less than with the Samyang, not by much thought. Tha built quality is better than the Samyang but is expected. The focus ring is much smoother, something that I did not expected. The one the Samyang was very stiff. In all, I am happy with the Pana, much more than my first purchase.

[f/3.5] I've been contemplating this lens for about a year. It was hard to justify it because I already own the 7-14mm Lumix lens. I finally took the plunge and am very pleased with the fisheye. The bubbled effect is A-W-E-S-O-M-E. I would totally recommend this lens to others.
