[Aluminum] For precision rifle shooting I've discovered the value of tripod support. I have a large, heavy tripod for the purpose, but this one is 2/3 the size and weight and is therefore much more suitable for hikes in the country. It obviously isn't as rigid as the large one, but with a small Arca-Swiss head, I still get results that are almost as good as shooting from a bench rest. I was hesitant about buying yet another tripod, but this quality product serves the purpose very well and I'm completely satisfied.

[Flip Lock] I use this tripod for my outdoor photo and video work close to ground level. My photo rig is made of this tripod with a Neewer H-35 low profile ball head and a telescopic column. It supports either a Sony RX100 VII or an Olympus E-M5 III. At the lowest setting - legs spread open and no column -, the center of the lenses is about 6 3/4 high. All extended with the column, it reaches 33 1/2.
My video rig is made again of this tripod, a leveling head, a 24 motorized slider, a (cool) Neewer mini fluid head supporting the same cameras. Lenses distance from the ground is 10 1/2 to 37 3/4. When fully extended, I weigh down the rig to add stability.
The tripod is well made, solid and easy to operate. Highly recommended.

[Aluminum] I purchased this tripod to replace another Leopold compact that I was using on location. I like the speed of the lever locks on the legs and the fact that the post is reversible - features the more expensive Leopold lacked. In spite of the fact the Leopold had graphite legs, I feel they are comparable in weight. Plus the legs were getting loose. I've used Slik in the past and have always been impressed with their quality and longevity. This will be my new go-to tripod for location work.

[3.87 lb] I have heard good things about Slik tripods and now I know it's true. Very sturdy and well designed.

[4] For quick family trips on the go where we needed a portable tripod for group shots, mounting binos (including digiscoping with iPhones) and video, I originally purchased a Slik Sprint Pro III, primarily due to its travel-friendly weight (2.1 lbs) and usable height of 62. Nevertheless I found the stability sorely lacking.

For the same price, I decided to step up to the Pro AL-323 and found its additional 0.8 lbs and 2.5" folded length well worth it. Besides doubling the load capacity (8.8 lbs. vs. 4.4 lbs.) it was much easier to use, especially when deploying the larger flip locks. The AL-323's center column also adds a weight hook for enhanced stability. Very happy with my decision.

One caveat - the included bag is extremely thin and flimsy. It's almost exclusively for storage, not carry. I immediately replaced it with an inexpensive padded model.
