Heliopan 37mm Slim Circular Polarizer Filter

Heliopan 37mm Slim Circular Polarizer Filter

$298.68 $456.98

The Heliopan 37mm Slim Circular Polarizer Filterhelps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. This results in a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imagery when photographing in hazy conditions. A circular polarizer differs from a linear polarizer in that it supports full use of a camera's autofocus and auto exposure functions.

The filter is constructed using high quality Schott glass, which maintains optical clarity and contrast to help render scenes with greater fidelity and resolution. The SH-PMC multi-coating provides a total of 16 coatings, 8 per side, for significant reflection reduction (below 0.2%) as well as dust and moisture repellence for easier cleaning.

This filter features a brass mounting ring that is demarcated with calibration dots to help with finding consistent rotational positioning when TTL viewing is not possible. The ring also features a slim mount design, measuring 5mm-thick, that helps to prevent vignetting when used on wide-angle lenses. It does not feature front threads for mounting additional filters or lens caps.

Reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface.

Arrange and filter directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light allowing for the absorption of much of the light.

Lessens haze in distant landscapes and provides more saturated, vivid colors.

Strongest effect when used at a 90° from the sun.

SH-PMC multi-coating offers both protection to the glass and helps to maintain light transmission and image quality.

Constructed from Schott glass for high optical clarity.

Thin-profile filter ring reduces likelihood of vignetting when used with wide-angle lenses.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If I put this filter on a Nikon Z 24-70mm "S" lens, will the lens hood fit (on and reversed)? Will I see vignetting? Thanks!

A: The Heliopan 82mm Circular Polarizer SH-PMC Filter is not thin so it would vignette the 24-70 lens. This B+W filter would be a better option because ti is thin and will work with the hood for your lens: https://bhpho.to/31bpvbp

Q: 2. is it compatible with canon 18-135 lens?

A: If you look at the front of the lens, after the focal length and the F stop value there will be a single 2 digit number, that is the size of the filter you need, the number is usually preceeded by a 0 with a slash through it.

Q: 3. is this compatible with a canon rebel t6 camera18-55mm lens?

A: I bought for a nikon camera. I dont own a Canon Rebel 6 but from the specs of the 18-55 mm of your lens it wont be compatible. You need filter with a 58 mm diameter not 52 mm.

Q: 4. Hi,What is the main difference between this filter and Heliopan 46mm High-Transmission Circular Polarizing Multi-Coated Filter ?I see that the filter factor for this one is between 2.3 and 2.8For the High-Transmission version is 2.0. That means more quality for the High-Transmission one.Do both of them feature the index markings on the edge of the filter ring ?The High-Transmission one doesn't have a slim mount, does it ?!And one last question: do they have the same glass and coating ?Kind regards !

A: The main difference between the Multi-coated Heliopan 46mm Circular Polarizer and the 46mm High Transmission Circular Polarizer is the filter factor; the high transmission CP will have a filter factor of one stop, where the multi-coated has a factor of approximately 1.3 stops. Both filters feature index markings. The high transmission CP does not have a slim mount. Both filters have the same 16-layer coating, and are both produced from Schott glass.

Q: 5. Will this fit Canon rf 24-105 f4 lens?

A: Yes this filter kit is compatible with the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM.

Q: 6. Would this fit my Zeiss 35mm lense ??

A: It depends which Zeiss lens you have, there're multiple. If you see your lens listed on the B&H site you can check the filter size in the "Specs" section.

Q: 7. will this fit a 35mm nikon 1.8 dx lens?

A: The Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G Lens has a 52mm filter thread, so will be compatible with the Heliopan 52mm Circular Polarizer.

Q: 8. What is the thickness of the filter?

A: The Ice Slim Multicoated Circular Polarizer Filter (100 x 100mm) is 0.08" / 2 mm, thick.

Q: 9. What is the thickness of this "slim" filter?

A: This filter is 5.2mm thick.

Q: 10. Do you offer, or can you recommend a slip-on lens cap that will work with this filter? I am using this on a Nikon 28-70 AF-S lens (primarily).

A: Kaiser Slip-On Lens Caps would be great for this!

[0.09 lb] From the first time I placed this filter on my camera I knew I was dealing with pure class ... It is quality through and through. During a trip to a zoo I watched as water was wonderfully transformed as I turned the polarizer. I got so excited I had to show my daughter!! I know this is not (by any means) the cheapest polarizing filter on the market -- but it sure seems worth the price to me. I would buy another one of these in a New York minute!

[Glass] Loved this polarizer and plan to buy more for each lens that I have!! I just returned from trip to the Canadian Rockies where brilliant blue skies, 20 hours of light, fresh snow, and beautiful shades of turquoise water abound. Using this polarizer, I was able to capture the beauty (and the detail) of the area in all of these lighting conditions and am thrilled with my results. The only thing that I did not like is that I could not fit the lens cap over this polarizer when on the lens; however that served to remind me to take it off and put it in its case (and take good are of it). This is not an insurmountable issue and does not preclude me from buying others.

[Glass] This is a great filter, it does not get stuck on the lens like cheaper filters do. Move smoothly, very high quality and excellent optics.

[0.09 lb] love this Polarizer, low profile helps eliminate vignetting. your lens cap will not fit but you dont want to leave it on anyways.

[0.09 lb] Great quality CPL. I bought this to use on my Fuji 14mm lens and it works great. The slim design ensures there is no vingetting even with the wide focal length.

[Multi Coated] I've owned quite a few Polarizers in my day, having used over 22 unique lenses for either my first dSLR-the Canon 20d, or my 5dmkii.I love the notches on the circular part-they make it easy to find the best result for an image if you are either eye-balling through the filter or switching it to a different lens. The build quality is the best, & turning the ring feels smoother than my B&W filters. Only issue with Heliopan is these filters are NOT CHEAP.

[0.09 lb] I purchased this slim filter in order to reduce vignetting at wide angle. It is a top quality sturdy lens which produces excellent results.

[Glass] This seems so much better than the B+H 105mm Kaeseman I tried, which was thick, heavy, and impossibly stiff to rotate. Unlike some other reviewers, I have no problem turning my Heliopan. It's much slimmer and lighter than the B+W I tried. I'm going to mount this on the front of my Foundation Filter system. Multicoating is a big plus. Just buy this one if you're looking for a 105mm circ pol. I have only one minor complaint- The filter ships in a flimsy leatherette pouch. I'm going to ditch the pouch and buy one of the B+H plastic filter cases.

[Multi Coated] I wrecked my first one in an unfortunate accident- and immediately ordered another one. This Pola is more expensive than some others, but the heavy duty brass construction is worth it. It's narrow profile allows me to put it on my 10-22 with no vignetting. Also, if you put it next to the cheaper polas, the lens coating really holds up. No obnoxious greenish flares like with some others.
