A: The rubber ring of the SMDV Mount Adapter for Profoto Flash Heads (B&H# SMPROFOTOAD) is designed to be large enough for it to slip onto Profoto strobe heads such as the Profoto B1, B1X, B10, B10 Plus, B10X, B10X Plus, and so on. Rather than relying on a constant size, articulating the lever on the side of this adapter effectively constricts the opening of the rubber side of the ring so that it grips the front of those strobes securely. To be clear, the ring is not a constant size but rather becomes tighter (i.e. more constricted) when one flips the side lever. Given that it's made of rubber and not molded plastic, you should expect some variance both in its inner diameter and also at different ambient temperatures. However, it will work with the aforementioned strobes and also with any other strobe that can utilize the same speed rings and inserts as those.

A: They are similar. The biggest difference is the Impact is kept in stock and not a special order.

A: The diameter of the side that attaches to the softbox is 5 5/8".

[Multiblitz 76] This is an excellent speedring. But! In the box the ferrules are flipped over to the wrong side of the ring. (Must be for shipping.) The B&H illustration shows this. See those ferrules pointing backwards from the colored marks on the ring? Every one must be flipped over to the opposite side of the ring before it can be used in the softbox (see photo). Then the EL mount sticks out the back, the rods go in and fold down, the box opens up and Voila! Perfect! I had to stand there and scratch my head for a while to realize Elinchrom had the ring configured backwards as shipped. Now I love it on my Elinchrom softboxes. 5

[Multiblitz 76] If you have purchased any of the Profoto strobes that can accept this reflector, you should to purchase this reflector in order to get the maximum power from your strobe. In fact, if you look at the guide numbers for these strobes, you will notice that they are all given with the Magnum Reflector (or OCF version) attached. In my own testing with B1, B2 and B10 strobes, the Magnum Reflector increases the power of the bare strobes as measured by a Sekonic L-858D meter by 1.7-1.9 times (Fstops). 5
