[600 ohms] The Sescom 6-Position variable inline attenuators are a requiremet for any SoundFX recordist attempting to record extremely high SPL sounds. The variable adjustments allow you the option to attentuate the signal prior to your preamps. These are my go to for gun, rocket and plane recordings.

[600 ohms] Our church had to replace its electronic carillon and the feed into the Mackie mixing board was way, way higher than the former one. So what line attenuator should we get? I chose this multi level one so I wouldn’t have to guess and it works perfectly on the highest setting so the trim levels on the mixing board are near their null points and there’s no danger of blowing out a channel with overload.

[600 ohms] I use this device along with a Sony UWP plug on transmitter to get the band or DJ's audio into my camera. I come out of the powered speakers XLR jack, into the attenuator and then on to the transmitter. Every DJ has the level set a little different and this device compensates for those differences. Usually the .05 or .10 setting knocks it down to a perfect level. I adjust on the fly as needed.

[0.195 lb] When recording audio at live events, this is such a time saver. Can accurately and quickly attenuate the line level off the sound board or speaker to the microphone level we need for our portable recorders.

[10 kOhms] Using this to step down hot signals when I patch into an existing sound system. The variable attenuation offers me the flexibility to be ready for anything. The only thing I would change is to make the knob smaller so its easier to fit in my kit.

[0.195 lb] Venue's often have great speakers around the room, but a terrible - or inaccessible mixing desk. So when live-streaming and needing to provide a sound feed for the room, I can hook the output of my PA desk into a handy mic socket at the front of the room, pick an appropriate attenuation, and not have to carry speakers and amps around with me.

[4 x 2.1 x 1.9"] Works perfectly, highly recommended. I was at a wedding where the only out was a speaker and my levels were still peaking at 1. I lowered the levels through this and it was fine. This has saved me at more than 1 wedding!!

[0.195 lb] I recently build a Kick-Sub Microphone. In essence, you grab a loose speaker 6-12 and connect an XLR end to it and use it as a microphone for the Kick drum. The issue with doing this is that the signal comes out really strong. This unit is perfect for that as you can dial in your attenuation. It attenuates from 5db, 10db, 20db, 30db, 40db, all the way down to 50db. So, depending on how far I place that mic to the Kick drum, I can adjust the microphone to make sure it doesn't clip.
The only thing I will say negative about it is that it is made of plastic. The construction quality doesn't seem great and for the price you would want a metal unit with much tighter tolerances. But I'm not planning to swing it around from the cable and smash things with it, so unless, I'm stepping on it constantly, I'm assuming it should last a long time.
