Celestron manufactures the Ultima line of prismatic spotting scopes in 65mm, 80mm, and 100mm varietals to suit your needs. The larger two can also be had with extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements, an expensive product that produces a marked improvement in the color fidelity, resolution, and edge delineation of the scope's imagery. All the Ultima line are mated to an eyepiece and render views that are both rightside up and laterally correct to the world, making them good for both terrestrial and celestial observing. All Ultimas are waterproof, making them more robust than ever before. Celestron surely is delivering exceptional value.

The Ultimas now offer the choice between 45° angled viewing or straight viewing as you prefer. Most users will prefer angled scopes because they are both simple to use for birds perched high above the viewer as well as easily simultaneously shared among users of differing heights. But some will prefer the straight-through viewing models, for these are much easier to use when hunting down the object of interest in the first place. Straight-viewing models are also usually a bit lighter, brighter, and less expensive. The choice is yours.

Certain Celestron products include their wonderful "No Fault" warranty coverage, which assures that your binoculars will be repaired or replaced at Celestron's option for as long as you own them—no questions asked! The only requirements on the user's end are to ship the binoculars (at the user's cost) to Celestron with a proof of purchase and a check or money order for $25 to cover the costs of inspection, shipping, and handling. This warranty service is valid only for USA and Candadian citizens purchasing from an authorized Celestron dealer.

Q: 1. I have a canon T3i. Can I take clear pictures through this scope? What is the B&H part number to attach the T3i?

A: All you would need to mount your Canon T3i onto this Spotting Scope is a T-Mount Adapter. You could do the Vello Lens Mount Adapter- T-Mount Lens to Canon EOS Camera. What you will do is peel the eyecup part of the scope off, and the T-Adapter Ring will thread onto the top of the Eyepiece where the Eyecup was. Then you can mount your camera onto that ring. Q: 2. Does it come with Tripod mounting adaptor ? if not what adaptor is suitable for this scope?

A: It comes with a standard 1/4-20 threaded mount and a larger thread probably 5/16. I have never used the larger mount so not sure. main comment-make sure tripod is VERY rigid.

Q: 3. what's the 35mm equivalent focal length on an APS-C sensor camera?

A: 382mm would be the equivalency.

Q: 4. What do I need to attach a Nikon D5100 to a Celestron Ultima 80 or 100?

A: This scope is about on the limit for magnification but i have tried the Nikon T-Mount (available at B&H) attachment with a D90 and it connected successfully. I could not recommend connecting a camera to this scope as the results were awful. It did not matter what changes to the camera settings i made i could not get any acceptable results. A different scope may yield better results but i have doubts.

Q: 5. would this capture a whale at 2 miles away?

A: That is a hard question to answer. Where I'm at in the Appalachian mountains I don't have many opportunities to look that far. However, I can tell you this. At over a 1/4 mile I can see acorns on the oak trees. I can see all the beautiful craters on the moon and I can clearly see Venus and her moons and see the bands on Venus.

Q: 6. Are you able to see target hits at 300 yards?

A: At 60X magnification, you can see target hits but, it is tuff

Q: 7. Does this come with a tripod? In the picture it shows a tripod included, however I did not receive one.

A: No it does not include tripod.

Q: 8. What do I need to attach a Nikon D5100 to a Celestron Ultima 100 or 80?

A: sorry I can't help you

Q: 9. Does the Celestron Ultima 65 have a 1.25 interface? thank you

A: The Celestron Ultima 65 18-55x65mm Spotting Scope can take any telescope 1.25" eyepiece

Q: 10. Hi just what the freight charges would be to Newcastle nsw Australia might be. Cheers Alan.

A: B&H ships to Australia via DHL DHL Express would be $50.51 US Dollars. You still will be responsible for duties and taxes once it arrives in Australia

[18.0 mm] I use this product as a spotting scope to view indoor pistol targets at a range of fifty feet; both for 22 and 45 calibers. I was very pleased with the edge to edge crispness of the scope and overall clarity. The range is poorly lit with fluorescent lighting and I could see a period on the score section at this distance. The overall build quality of the scope is very good and the lifetime warrantee encouraged me to give it a try. My experience with this scope is limited to the above use. I intend to use it out doors to view wild life. Although not a compact scope the image for my use more than compensates for the slightly larger size.

[65 mm] I wear spectacles. They aren't a problem with this product. The light is bright and clear, even on a dull winter's day. Excellent ... no problems found.

[65 mm] This is my second scope. First one (another brand) was returned for having a horrible eye relief. This scope has decent eye relief and very good overall results and build quality is not cheap.

[65 mm] This is a good scope if you can't aford a more expensive one. It works well for viewing birds at a fair distance. You can see a lot of detail at a long distance. The scope is light and it is easy to carry in the bag it came with, and the eyepiece comes in a hard plastic case. The waterproof/fogproof feature is a big plus as well. The little t-mount hook up for DSLR is okay but the aperture zoomed in is too small. Unless you're in direct sunlight at high ISO, the shutter speed will be too slow and you'll get a blurry picture. Besides, the scope is too light to hook a camera to with any amount of stability; it's a neat addition, but not the most useful thing in the world. If it's your plan to use this as a lens, I'd suggest an actual lens, or a heavier scope.

[65 mm] - magnification is good enough to distinguish between arrows at 90m - the view is clear enough to distinguish between similar colours (black and blue, red and orange) - good value for money

[65 mm] Bought this for the shooting range. It's very clear out to a 100 yards , that's all the range I have. Works great well worth the money. I've had no problems with it. I've also tested it just looking down the road and 200 plus yards is also clear.

[18.0 mm] I found this scope to be great value for the money. As a 25 metre spotting scope it provides a crisp image at minimum magnification, with a zoom which is 'just right'. As the eyepiece is zoomed in the image gets less distinct but is still very useable at 50 metres. It will also focus clearly to 10 metres. I am very happy with this purchase.

[4.5 lb] Im using it as a terrestrial telescope rather than for shooting. Nice and clear, although the image suffers a little at full zoom in low light. The zoom is quite good; you can very easily read car licence plates from a kilometer away. The focus and zoom rings work as you would expect and the eye piece is comfortable enough. I like the angled view finder; this works well for my application and would also benefit if you were using it to sky watch. The included bag is also a nice bonus. My biggest recommendation though would be to invest in a very good tripod; make sure the head of the tripod has no play and is smooth in its operation - the slightest bump introduces huge shake with such large magnifications but that applies to any high powered scope and is no reflection on this unit. Im very impressed with this scope and already a friend has made the decision to purchase the same model after using mine.
