Bought this lens for use with my XPro 3 and I found it to be a lens that I could find opportunities with. I didn't find it to be overly heavy although I wasn't carrying anything else. Focusing was quick and the images were excellent. Note that the enclosed pic hasn't been post processed.

Like its big sister, the 200MM f2, this lens is a brute (comparatively speaking) but optically it is excellent. Flare is not much of an issue, even when the sun is within the field of view (there is a little bit, but far less than most ultra-wide angle lenses I have used, including the vaunted 14-24MM f2.8 Nikkor).


While it is not threaded to take filters, I plan on getting the Fotodiox Wonderpana adapter to make use of their 145MM diameter filters. While the polarizing filter is of limited use with such a wide angle of view, the ND filters allow for slow shutter speeds that can render moving water, say, as a smoothly flowing surface.


I have had the Fuji 10-24 f4 for a couple of years (what can I say - Im a wide angle kinda guy) and will keep it for times when its much smaller size make it the preferred tool for the job, but that extra 2MM at the wide end of this lens is quite noticeable and worth it to me.

got this because I have the 10-24 and yes I love it, but this 8-16 is considerably wider and can get just that little bit more in the the landscape

Ive been using this lens for a few weeks and traveled to Mexico with it mounted on my X-T3. The build quality, sharpness, and rendition is absolutely superb, and Im also have a lot of fun using it.  Next up is to find a filter mount that I can used with it.  Many thanks to Fujifilm for this new offering.

This lens paired with the X-T4 is a brilliant combination resulting in super sharp handheld images. Be prepared for the size and weight of this lens, it is substantial but worth it.

Monster Glass for a mirrorless, you know its in your bag and in your hand.  The wide 8mm angle opens up another avenue of creativity on how you want to perceive the world as an artist, correct distortion or not.  Balances fine even on the Really Right Stuff TFA-01 Ultra Pocket Tripod without battery grip.  Permanent resident in my travel bag regardless of the heft.

Ive never owned a lens wider than 18mm equivalent.  This lens opens up a whole new area of creativity for me.  As with my other X series lenses, this one is built like a tank and optical performance is excellent.  Ive taken it on a couple of hiking trips and the images are stunning.  Im considering the FotodioX Wonderpana 145 Core Filter Holder and polarizer.  The one thing that took some getting used to is how the image can change substantially depending on where the horizon cuts across your scene as you change the elevation angle.  And minor ghosting occurs if you include the sun or bright lights.  Overall, Im very pleased with the lens and it rounds out my kit nicely.

I am, by nature, a wide angle kinda guy, and already have the Fuji 10-24 but when this came out I felt the need to go just a bit wider. And I’m glad I did - sure, it’s a bit weighty but the image quality is outstanding IMHO and that extra angle of view makes for more dramatic perspectives in the right circumstances. Even flare is not much of an issue.


The shot of Jemez Falls was taken using an ND10 filter from Fotodiox on their Wonderpana system, which is quite useful when there is too much ambient light to get a long shutter speed.


If you like to go as wide as possible and still stay rectilinear, this is the bad boy for you. I have the Laowa 9MM prime lens but somehow this lens produces better quality images. Or course, it weighs about 100 times as much…
