A: I have a MacBook pro, which is fairly slender, and I also will often bring my ipad along. Both of them fit neatly in the slot provided for a laptop. Just to give an idea, I have a cannon T3i camera with two lenses, and a panasonic video camera that I usually carry inside the part of the bag with the separated compartments. I hope this helps.

A: Not sure about the D7000, but I'm able to fit in my D80, Niokn 70-300mm, SB500 flash, 3 more lenses and the laptop. But be very careful about the flap opening in the front. Very easy to forget completely closing it (imagine the rush at airport security) and expensive gear will fall out. The velcro fasteners dont do a good job at keeping things in place.

A: Assuming you are not planning to keep it on the camera, I would say definitely YES. As far as a pocket large enough, there are several options. If you don't plan to carry a laptop, the padded area designed for that would definitely work. If you do plan to carry a laptop, I am fairly certain that it would fit in a padded compartment inside since the dividers are moveable (via velcro) for your own personal design. The top section (where the tag is affixed) has plenty of room for equipment ( i.e. camera with small lens) or personal items (i.e. 1st aid kit, windbreaker, socks, sunscreen, bug spray, hat, etc.). In the large/bottom zippered section, I carry 2 cameras with small lenses attached, another lens, pack of filters. and charger. I carry about 6 batteries in the top/outside velcro pocket. I really like the pack and configuration except that it does not include a pouch for a water bottle on the outside. I hook a water bottle to the side handle and strap it down a little so it doesn't flop around too much. It would probably be even better to somehow hook it on the front for better availability. But to be able to carry a tripod so easily makes the water bottle inconvenience bearable.

A: Hi No unfortunately not really in the sense of it being 100% safe. I have carried one in the top section but if it were to break or leak it could potentially carry through to the main camera section. But I can say that for the price this is a great backpack.

A: I have used this bag to fly to Europe, Australia and the Middle East, it has never let me down once. If you want to lock it you will need to use up to 5 small locks at it has many interlocking compartments.
