Manage your storage drives with the HighPoint RocketRAID 2720A Internal RAID Controllerfrom HighPoint. This utility card installs within your system and allows you to manage multiple hard-disk and solid-state drives in a RAID format, making this ideal for tech experts looking to manage massive amounts of data locally.

Built on the PCIe 2.0 interface, this card gives you two SFF-8087 (mini-SAS) host ports which provides you with a total of eight 6 Gb/s SAS/SATA channels for drive management. You can configure your drives in various RAID modes including 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and JBOD. The RocketRAID 2720A is backward compatible with 3 Gb/s SAS/SATA devices, PCIe 1.0 and 2.0 motherboards, and meet compliance with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems. You can install the RocketRAID 2720A into an available x8 slot and, due to its low-profile design, it barely takes up any room within your case.

A: On the datasheet for this product, the manufacture only states it supports larger HDD's than 2TB. It doesn't specify the maximum size. Q: 2. Does this work with USB4?

A: No, the HighPoint RS6614V 4-Bay Thunderbolt 3 RAID Enclosure requires a Thunderbolt port on the host device. A USB4 port on a host device may not be compatible with this RAID enclosure.

Q: 3. Is there an E1.S tray to load M.2 2280?

A: The HighPoint PCIe 4.0 x16 8-Channel M.2 NVMe RAID Controller has eight E1.S NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4 slots—it won't work with M.2 2280 SSDs.

Q: 4. Is there a RAID 5 version?

A: At this time, there is no version of the HighPoint SSD7505 PCIe 4.0 x16 4-Channel M.2 NVMe RAID Controller that can support RAID 5.

A: Yes, the HighPoint RocketRAID 2722A External 8-Channel SAS-2 / SATA III PCIe 2.0 RAID Controller is compatible with MacOS being run on M1 and M2 chip computers.

A: The HighPoint Ultra-High Performance, Flexible NVMe U.2 RAID Controller B&H # HISSD7120 will work on Linux Kernel 3.3 or later.

Q: 8. Does this support win-10 Out of the Box?

A: Windows 10 would see the HighPoint RocketRAID 3740C PCIe Host Bus Adapter as a generic adapter. It's strongly recommended that you download the latest drivers for this to function properly.

Q: 9. Will this work in a PCIe 4.0 x8 slot, physical x16 slot? With all 4 NVMEs?

A: The HighPoint SSD7105 NVMe RAID Controller requires a full PCIe x 16 slot.

Q: 10. It will work on mac pro 5.1 pcie16x(2.0)? I believe individual drives (nvme 4.0) will work full, but raid will be negligible because of pcie 2.0. Am i right?

A: Nvme drives will typically be bottlenecked by PCIe 2.0 with or without RAID, and as such only SATA M.2 drives (via a PCIe card similar to this one) would be recommended for use with PCIe 2.0.

[0.38 lb] I use it in my 2019 Mac Pro with 4x2TB m.2 SSDs from Samsung. The passive cooling works great, I see consistent write/read speed rates in continuous heavy use and the drive is silent. 5

[0.38 lb] SSD7101A-1 is a great card. I installed 4x Samsung 970 EVO+ to be used for rendering and I get 13,000 MB/s. A motherboard with 16x lanes is best for performance. It does come with a RAID software. 5

[0.38 lb] The quality of construction is excellent. You can build use disks of your choice within this enclosure - or you can order pre-configured by OWC. The you tube videos are very helpful ...OWC support is caring and helpful. You do have to perform some research if you are using your own disks as the quick start manual is not complete with all the information you need. Better information is available l... Now what I have experienced this enclosure I have another one...... 5

[0.38 lb] Moving from my on board RAID controller to a dedicated card was a game changer. Using my motherboard in RAID 0 had no problem with Sequential reads/writes, but the random reads were painfully slow. I moved to a PCI riser card (Gigabytes Aorus) so I could have more drives and a possible bonus of the bifurcated PCI lanes would be a bit quicker. Same performance. I finally bit the bullet and picked up this card. It has been FLAWLESS. The random read performance is within spitting distance of a single drive. Absolutely thrilled with this setup. fwiw: Asus x399-e Gaming Threadripper 1950x 970 Evo Plus 1TB drives Now I just need to get PCI4 capable stuff together so I can really put it through its paces 5

[0.38 lb] This is my 3rd RAID Tower from Highpoint. I started with a thunderbolt, upgraded to the thunderbolt 2 and now this one. Snappy response and pretty easy to setup, take your time and it’s start forward. B&H was great, I ordered and it was here in two days, safely packed!!! Thanks B&H! 5

[0.38 lb] I had an older LSI 9271-8i used for a 21TB RAID6 but only see between 20-40Mbps transfer rates. With this HighPoint RocketRAID I am now maxing out my 2Gbps network. 5

[0.38 lb] It arrived a lot faster, initially it was going to take 4-6 weeks. The product is very well built, materials are very good quality. Adding drives was extremely easy. Connection to Mac Pro tower through SAS controller was easy. Everything about the product was absolutely fantastic. I will be filling it with 12tb drives, should make for a very nice storage array. Speeds are very nice as well. 5
