This Canon EF/EF-S to Micro Four Thirds Adapter Vello IIfrom Canon EF/EF-S to Micro Four Thirds Adapter Vello IIallows a Canon EF or EF-S mount lens to be used on a Micro Four Thirds mount camera. Electronic communication between an attached camera and lens is supported, enabling autofocus as well as auto exposure features. If an attached lens is capable of generating EXIF metadata, this adapter is designed to transfer that information so that it can be saved with image files generated by the combined Canon EF or EF-S mount lens and Micro Four Thirds mount camera.

When using a Panasonic Micro Four Thirds mount camera or camcorder, this adapter's integrated, aperture toggle dial provides clickless stop adjustments that help prevent unwanted noise or vibrations from being recorded while capturing video with sound.

Constructed from aluminum alloy, this adapter is durable while remaining lightweight, and an internal, matte black coating minimizes the appearance of reflections within the adapter barrel. To help reduce stress on the camera mount when placed on a tripod, the adapter includes a detachable Arca-type compatible tripod foot with 1/4"-20 threads.

Q: 1. Will anyone specifically tell if she used Canon EF-S 10-22 on bmpcc using Vello adapter with flying colours, so to say? i am dying to hear a definitive yes or big no and then move on. Till now the debate is ambivalent. i have the lense and i want to buy bmpcc and Vello adapter.devi

A: NO, but would suggest you get the Speedbooster rather than the Vello, have both and you can't beat the speedbooster

Q: 2. can lenses without an aperture ring work? If so, how is the aperture set?

A: It works but there are extreme limitations. You'll get a lot of blurry pictures and videos. It's best to go with the metabones.

Q: 3. So with this adaptor I would be able to connect not just canon lenses, but any lens that has an EF/EF-S Mount onto my GH4? Besides it having no communication with the camera, and no aperture ring, why is this product so cheap?

A: This is correct- any EF/EF-S lens can be used with this adapter. The fabrication cost of this adapter is very low, and the manufacturer is able to offer this product at a very reasonable price to reflect this and make an affordable product for consumers wishing to use this type of adapter.

Q: 4. Does this adapter work well with Canon EF-S10-22 lense?

A: it is good and my customer is happy with this adaptor but it works only with EF to Micro four third not with EF-S

Q: 5. I notice in the reviews there's a crop factor mentioned - is this the crop factor caused by using a 35mm measurement lens on the GH4 or is there a further crop due to the adapter use. If so how much? If I mount a 100mm lens what would the final crop be (ish)? Thanks

A: This particular adapter is fully mechanical, so any crop factor is going to be from the lens being used on the GH4. Since Micro Four Thirds cameras have a 2x crop factor, a 100mm lens will effectively act as a 200mm lens.

Q: 6. Does this work on the OM-1 camera body?

OM SYSTEM OM-1 Olympus Air A01 Olympus E-PL10 Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IIIs Olympus OM-D E-M1X Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III Olympus PEN E-PL10 Olympus PEN E-PL8 Olympus PEN E-PL9 Olympus PEN-F

Q: 9. - Does this produce any VIGNETTING (like the Vello adapter version with "Aperture control" ring) when using Full Frame Canon Lenses on Panasonic M4/3 camera? - Does it increase the Full Frame to M4/3 CROP Factor (which is calculated as 2x)? Thank you!

A: But I can't recommend it because you won't have any aperture control.

[1/4"-20 Female] It fits properly, does the job. Not useful if you need electronic control.

[Yes] I got this adapter to use my old Canon lenses with my new Panasonic G85. Works pretty good. The metal interface on the lens side fits perfectly. On the camera side there is a tiny rotational slop after it clicks into place, but I can't see how that would effect anything. Of course, there is no communication between lenses and camera - no image stabilization, autofocus or aperture control. But still a great bargain if you don't need your lens to talk to your camera.

[Metal] We have many different types of adaptors and brands for our MFT set ups. This one is made of solid construction and does the job. Not much to say about this adaptor except if you are using electronic EF lenses you have to set the aperture ahead of time and take the lens off of a Canon body while holding the DOF preview button. We usually do not change the aperture after shooting a scene so that is usually not a big deal. If you just need a quick working adaptor then you can't go wrong with this one. If you are using manual EF glass such as Rokinon or Samyang then you will be alright in that department. Hope that helps

[Metal] I use this adapter to connect my cinema lenses with Canon EF mount to my mft bmpcc. The cinema lenses all have manual focus and aperture rings so this adapter was a great purchase since I had no need for electronic connection to my lenses. It seems sturdy enough and it fits snugly and securely with my canon and Rokinon lenses as well as with the bmpcc. Of course, there is the issue of sensor crop, which this adapter does nothing for, but its better than not being able to use any of this expensive glass I have laying around. It does what it is supposed to do and for the price, its well worth the investment!

[1/4"-20 Female] I don't need an intelligent adapter since everything do is manual. This works perfectly and the price point is perfect as well.

[Yes] For last 3 days I have been using this cheap and useful adapter. Now my Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera which I only recently bought from Singapore is able to mount Canon EF-S 10-22 mm and Canon EF-24-70mm f/2.8 lenses. It fits well and locks perfect. I am a filmmaker so it suits to me to operate my machine manually. It is easy. No hiccups. Where is the problem guys. Soon I am to mount my third Canon lens which happens to be 70-200mm. It's relief I can make use of all my Canon lenses which I had bought with Canon 60D. Devi Prasad Mishra

[Yes] This lens adapter for Canon EF lenses does not fit on an EF lens. The design doesn't allow it to lock onto the lens. It will simply fall off which makes it unusable.
