Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How do you adjust the length?

A: The plastic buttons on the side fit into the notches and you can make the strap longer or shorter that way

Q: 2. Where is the strap made?

A: It is made in Tunisia.

Q: 3. Is this the same strap that ships with the M10?

A: Sorry, I've already answered my own question. It is not the same.

Q: 4. Can it fit a D-Lux Type 109?

A: Yes, this will fit the 109.

Q: 5. Will this work with my Leica M2 without any other accessories?

A: You can definitely used this Leica Leather Carrying Strap on your Leica M2 without the need for other accessories.

Q: 6. How long is this strap?

A: This strap is adjustable to three different lengths: 39.5, 42 and 43.5 inches. The outer section near the key rings measures 1/4 inches and the center shoulder section measures 1 inch in width.

Q: 7. What is lenght?

A: Measured on the camera it is 103 cm (approx 40 inches) long with an adjustment of plus/minus 7 cm (approx 2.5 inches). Excellent strap.

Q: 8. Will this strap fit a Leica R6 or F-E?

A: I have one on my Nikkormat FTn, which is not small, so I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't fit just as well on a Leica R6. And it's long enough to sling over both my neck and shoulder and carry it behind me . . . in normal clothes. But it probably wouldn't be long enough to do the same thing with a heavy bulky jacket on. If I were really skinny - maybe.

Q: 9. Is this strap DIFFERENT than the strap that comes with the Q2? With a $5000 camera, shouldn't Leica include their best strap?

A: This is the same strap included with the Leica Q2.

Q: 10. Does this fit the Q1?

A: Yes, it will fit both the Q or Q2.

[Gray] I needed a strap for my Cannon G7x2. This is pricey but great quality and works exactly as I hoped. Not sure why cannon does not make a simple strap but hey ......now I can say I own a Leica (strap) :)

[0.08 lb] I bought this for the Fujifilm X-T1. Its a 500% improvement over the stock strap. The leather is of very high grade, Soft and thick. The shoulder pad have a very soft rubber backing that treat you neck like baby skin and won't slip.

[0.08 lb] When I first got the strap the first thing I noticed was that the leather was soft and supple. I thought the thing would break if you pulled at it, but its really very strong. It has a Matt finish with a tiny hint of shine, and the edges is stitched white. The neck protector is a little ticker and stiffer but bends really well, and the strap is easy to fold into a bag The metal lugs are strong and stiff and easy to mount. There is an exposed bit of untreated leather that touches the camera - 1) to avoid staining and 2) because its softer and not abrasive when touching the camera (I use an M240 silver) Compared to other Leather straps, I think that its properly priced even if its got the Leica brand on it. Its thinner than other brands, but its so much softer and thinner but I feel just as confident with the strap around my shoulder. It has the ability to shorten the length, but I would have liked the ability to make the length shorter. Im 5'9 and at its shortest length, the camera sits on my belly, just above my belly button when standing. Id have liked it a little higher. At the longest length, it sits at my waist and close to my groin. Not exactly friendly for people of average height. I think it would be punishing for people who are shorter than me.

[0.08 lb] This is a quality product. These are made of a nice top grain leather. they connect easily enough, and there are leather guard at the connection to isolate the metal rings on the strap from the anodized surface of the camera, which should prevent any scratching. The price is a little high for what it is, but it is a good product. If quality is important to you, which it must be if you bought a Leica camera, than you should be satisfied with this strap.

[0.08 lb] It is definitely a bit overpriced but then again everything Leica has its collectable value I guess. I purchased this strap for my M3 which has the buddha lugs. They are a little wide for the holes on this leather strap but I managed to get it on them. So I think this strap is designed for the newest M series cameras, but it also works fine for the older ones.

[Gray] I have always used Domke gripper straps on all my cameras but wanted something a little nicer for my M240. I looked hard at the Leicatime leather straps, but in the end chose this leather strap made by Leica. Of course, Luigi's hand made leather straps are more luxurious, but Leica's strap #18776 is the best balance between price, quality, durability, function and reliability that I have been able to find with regard to leather camera straps. I am extremely pleased with this strap and would highly recommend it. Get one for your Leica M camera, whether it's a film M or digital. You just can't go wrong with this strap.
