The champagne-gold Millennia HV-35 500-Series Mic Preamp Champagne-Goldis a single-channel microphone preamp based on the philosophy that "coloring" at source is not for everyone and that maintaining the clarity and integrity of the signal through the recording and production process is critical to communicating the artist's intention and individuality.

The preamp is housed in the API 500-series format and brings the Millennia quality to an ever increasing popular format. A "Ribbon Mic" switch couples the input signal to the gain stage and also provides an additional 10 dB of gain (phantom power is switched off in this mode).

An instrument input is provided on the front panel for connecting Hi-Z sources such as bass guitars. Signal present LEDs, a 15 dB pad, 80 Hz high-pass filter, and polarity flip round out an attractive and convenient offering from the company.

Q: 1. how do I get my explorer 500 to connect to my music and gps directons? Phone calls are fine

A: Try re-pairing.

Q: 2. I have just realised that these are incopatible with my Klark Teknick CT1 Mic Booster as the CT1 requires 48V phantom power and the Rolls MP13 provides 24V. Can you recommend a quiet, affordable alternative?

A: ART Tube MP Preamplifier B&H # ARTUBEMP Single-Channel Tube-Based Hand-Selected 12AX7A Vacuum Tube Variable Input & Output Gain Control Ideal as a Tube DI Box XLR & 1/4" Connections Inexpensive, Professional Performance Exceptionally Low Noise A Staple in Many Studios

Q: 3. can this be repurposed and used to pre amp a playback tape head? i know this is unconventional but i just need it to work. HELP!

A: The Rolls MP13 is a mic preamp so it is designed to receive a mic level signal but the output from the playback tape head is a line level signal. It could work, as long as you can control the output level from the tape head so it does not overload the input of the preamp, unless that is the desired effect that you wish to achieve.

Q: 4. is the frequency response above 20,000hz for high res listening?

A: The manufacturer does not state the frequency range. For listening to high res tracks at their best quality, A pair of audiophile quality speakers or headphones is strongly recommended.

Q: 5. Would this be appropriate for the XS Wireless 2 system? The cardboard box is not cutting it.

A: According to the specs of the XS Wireless 2 receiver, the iSeries Waterproof Case for Sennheiser EW 100/300/500 Series Wireless Combo Mic should be able to hold the XS Wireless 2 receiver, however there will be a bit of empty space as the receiver is smaller than the EW 100/300/500 series.

Q: 6. Needing a amplified microphone to do voiceover on live dvd recording?

A: You don't need it, but a pre amp is a good idea!

Q: 7. In the description, it states that this is compatible with the Komoto K5S head. My question is this, is the K5S plate the same as the Komoto K5 plate and is it compatible with the Komoto K5. What is the difference between the Komoto K5S and the K5 heads?

A: I'm not finding mention of a K5S plate in the description for the iFootage HV-01 Conversion Plate, maybe it was an error that was removed? Either way the iFootage HV-01 Conversion Plate is compatible with the plate form the iFootage Komodo K5 Fluid Head.

Q: 8. Can this be re-purposed to be used from an XLR out from the back of my amp (Peavy Vypyr Pro 100) to patch headphones in to monitor the signal being sent from the amp to the mixer board on the bands PA system?

A: If your amp is a XLR Mic level output yes. It will take Line level out also but it will take much less boost to power the headphones. If it is speaker level out you may blow out the preamp.

Q: 9. Is the case metal or plastic? Any RFI suppression built in?

A: Works Great. Metal case. I used it with an ethernet adaptor and was able to send the audio signal through a schools cat5 wiring for their school PA System.

Q: 10. Does it fit the 500D?

A: The Dracast Softbox for X-Series 500 fits on DRX500 Bi-Color and DRX500.

[From Rack] The $30 preamps have noise and the good ones are $100 and up. This is perfectly placed. It's worth the $50, for sure. I thought 30dB gain was too much, but both the PC interface and the DAW software benefitted from tweaking their gain down. MY SE V7 is an amazing voiceover mic now, and would be a fantastic podcaster mic.

[2 x 24.3 Ohms] I was honestly expecting a somewhat noisy preamp for $50....but...this was not the case. Not only did the polsen not color the audio, it was also very quiet while providing a great amount of clean gain. Devices like this are the reason the cloud lifter is overpriced. Great device....great price

[2.08 lb] The Black Magic Web Presenter box has a XLR input and it works great.

If you have a Dynamic Mike you have 60db of gain on the XLR input.

The above Rolls Preamp provides two great upgrades for the Black Magic Web Presenter XLR Microphone input.

1. The MP13 easily provides 50db of clean, preamp gain.
2. The MP13 provides Phantom Power for Capacitive Microphones
3. It's a Green LED for Power and a Red LED for audio Clipping

[From Rack] This unit sounds amazing, I use it on vocals and set the EQ just enough to add some color on the highs. But this unit is definitely staying in the studio.

[2.08 lb] I use it for vocal. Great vintech sound. Well built. If you overdrive the input (70db and more) it starts to distort.
