This FotodioX WonderPana FreeArc Core Unit Nikon 14mm Lensfrom FotodioX WonderPana FreeArc Core Unit Nikon 14mm Lensis designed to specifically fit the Nikon AF NIKKOR 14mm f/2.8D ED lens, as well as a separately available WonderPana 6.6" Holder Bracket. Those items can be combined to allow for the convenient use of two 2.5 to 4.0mm thick filters measuring 6.6" wide or one 2.5 to 4.0mm thick filter measuring 6.6" wide along with one FotodioX 145mm round filter behind it. A compatible 145mm inner-pinch lens cap for 145mm FotodioX round filters is also provided.

The included WonderPana FreeArc Core Unit consists of two components, a front filter holder and a rear lens collar. Placement of this FreeArc Core Unit onto a Nikon AF NIKKOR 14mm f/2.8D ED lens is easily accomplished by sliding the rear lens collar over the rear of the lens until it has achieved a secure fit. Afterward, the front filter holder can be screwed onto the front of the installed rear lens collar.

To use the WonderPana 6.6" Holder Bracket with the FreeArc Core Unit for a Nikon AF NIKKOR 14mm f/2.8D ED lens, pretapped threaded inserts along the edge of the front filter holder accommodate the six included brass short screws for correct positioning of the WonderPana 6.6" Holder Bracket's two assembly pieces so that they are placed parallel to each other and can hold a 6.6" wide filter between them. Once the holder bracket and the front filter holder are combined and the separate collar has been slid over the rear of a Nikon AF NIKKOR 14mm f/2.8D ED lens, the front filter holder with the attached holder bracket can be screwed onto the installed rear lens collar.

After being fitted onto a Nikon AF NIKKOR 14mm f/2.8D ED lens, the bearing design of this WonderPana FreeArc Core Unit allows a WonderPana 6.6" Holder Bracket to be rotated 360°. This permits the use of graduated neutral density and other filters that are enhanced by varied positioning.

The FotodioX WonderPana 6.6" Holder Bracket provides two pairs of filter slots, a configuration that accommodates two compatible rectangular filters. For each rectangular filter that is placed within one of the holder bracket's slots, its position can be secured using the included brass long screws. Pretapped threaded inserts along the outside of the holder bracket allow the long screws to each apply pressure to a spring-loaded retainer within each filter slot. When a pair of the long screws is used, the level of grip upon a rectangular filter can be varied, which can complement the use of graduated filters whose effect can be adjusted to better suit changing lighting conditions or creative demands by sliding them up or down within a filter slot.

This FotodioX WonderPana FreeArc Core Unit includes front filter threads, which allow a FotodioX 145mm round filter to be used along with a WonderPana 6.6" Holder Bracket. If a 145m round filter is used on the attached WonderPana FreeArc Core Unit, the rectangular filter slot closest to the rear of the holder bracket becomes unavailable.

The FotodioX 145mm Center-Pinch Snap-On Lens Cap for Select WonderPana Systems and Filters is a 145mm front lens cap with a squeeze, spring, and snap-on mechanism. It is easy to install as well as remove and can attach to a WonderPana FreeArc filter holder system in order to protect the front element of a lens that any one of those systems is mounted on. Additionally, with the exception of the FotodioX Ultra Slim filters, this lens cap can be used to protect a FotodioX 145mm filter that is mounted on a FotodioX WonderPana FreeArc filter holder system.

Lens caps protect your lens or filter from scratches, fingerprints, and the elements when the lens or filter is not in use.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this lens have true manual focus or is it focus by wire on Nikon Z8 and Z9?

A: Yes, the Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 Lens for Nikon Z has a true manual focus. It is not focus by wire.

Q: 2. will this lens give aperture and shutter speed information on a Z6?

A: No, it will not. As the Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 Lens for Nikon Z is a fully manual lens and does not have electronic contacts on the lens mount to transfer communication between the camera and lens, EXIF data, exposure data, and focus data is not transferred to the camera.

Q: 3. Does it distort the horizon or have fish eye effect??

A: The lens has some distortion, but it is relatively minor and not a fisheye by any means.

Q: 4. how’s this different from using the F-mount version with the FTZ adapter(That combination might be a bit lighter too)

A: This is a native attachment for a Z mount camera. It removes the need to have a adapter between your lens and the camera. It also has a rear gel filter holder.

Q: 5. Does this lens provide EXIF data to the camera so that the f/stop used will be recorded?

A: The lens does not provide EXIF data to the camera.

Q: 6. What is the circular size for this lens?

A: I'm sorry but this lens does not take a filter, the lens is too wide and the front element protrudes too much.

Q: 7. What is the angle of view for this lens?

A: 114 degrees.

Q: 8. Why does this manual focus RF lens weigh 1.8 lb? Its auto focus version in EF mount weighs only 1.1 lbs!

A: Until we get our hands on one, we are of the opinion that the new lens has more metal in its construction.

Q: 9. Can this lens be used with APS-C cameras?

A: Yes. There will be a crop factor of 1.6x. Also make sure you will be mounting it to a Canon mount other wise you will need a lens adapter.

Q: 10. Does this lens require an adjustment to reach infinity focus or is this scenario very limited to some users only?

A: No, no adjustment is neccessary.

[0.76 lb] This system works so good, that aside from it being on the lens, you forget it's on the lens, despite it's size. when looking through the view finder, it is so clean that you don't think it's on . The polarizing is amazing. the best out of a mountain of filters and polarizers I've tried. the clouds are UNBELIEVABLE .

[0.76 lb] Having a crop sensor camera, using the Rokinon 14mm is great for waterfall photos since I can get real close to my subject. However, not having a polarizer, the photos were never as good as I wanted them. Now I can get remove the glare and really start to enjoy the lens. Just remember, if you use this filter to darken a blue sky on a 14mm lens without clouds, the sky will look terrible but this is not what this polarizer and lens combo is for.

[0.76 lb] Extremely versatile, fits my 500pf lens attached to my Z6ii camera. Also plenty of room for 2 additional small lens and cleaning accessories. Just an fyi, this insert DOES fit the Shimoda Designs Explore 40 backpack. (B&H rep told me it didnt). You simply need to remove the nylon carrying cover. Its snug but definitely doable. Only thing I wish it had was a larger holder on the strap for a smart phone.

[0.76 lb] Using this for landscapes on the 14-24mm Nikkor. Fits straight on the Wonderpana system. Would buy the skinny version to leave an extra slot free on the FreeArc rather than this one.

[0.76 lb] I use it with a sony 200-600 lens, camera attached. If you own a 30L explore v2 like me, this will fit.

[0.76 lb] I got this large core unit for my Shimoda Action X30 V2 backpack camera bag. I carry a Fujifilm X-T3 with a 100-400mm zoom and a 18-55mm zoom. Both Fujinon lenses. Also, I carry a Leica M10-Monochrom with a 35mm lens. There is room for items that I could not carry, but needed in the field, with my other backpack camera bag. The beauty here is you can empty your bag in one fell swoop by removing the Core Unit and switch it out with a different Core Unit fitted for a different type of shooting. The core units come with a fitted dust cover to keep your camera equipment clean while stored. The dust cover also substitutes as a packing bag for clothing if you need it. The partitions are easily move to customize for your equipment. It’s a very efficient enhancement to your pack pack camera bag. (The Add Photo feature was frozen, otherwise I’d have included a picture).

[0.76 lb] This is a great solution for polarizing a 14-24 bulb lens. I have used it and it makes a great difference in folliage and water in landscapes. It is quite large but necessarily so to cover the lens.

[0.76 lb] This thing is excellent, just beware of the small brass screws on the filter ring. They are not firmly tightened.I took them out and used some Locktite on the threads so they want be loose any more. And sadly ,the filter pouch is to small for the holder with filter mounted.

[0.76 lb] This cap is as good as (or better than) any that I've seen from Canon, Nikon or Tamron. Good firm spring tension and precise fit.
