It features a Manfrotto-type quick release system for quick switching between handheld and tripod shooting.

This 15mm LWS rod-based aluminum rig is highly configurable with its single rubber handgrip, baseplate, and shoulder pad, each being individually adjustable. The bottom of the baseplate incorporates 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 tripod threads.

A: The Shoulder Mount Rig with Manfrotto QR Plate & 15mm Rod System has two sets of 15mm rods 3 x 15mm Aluminum Rod (11.8") are located at the front of the system and 2 x 15mm Aluminum Rod (7.8") at the back of the system.

Q: 2. Will this work with the FX6?

A: The spacing of the screws is designed for the FS5 and unfortunately they are no adjustable. I don't recommend this baseplate for the FX6.

Q: 3. Would this work with the Sony Z280?

A: Yes, the SONY PXW-Z280 would be supported by the CAMVATE Shoulder Mount Rig with Manfrotto QR Plate & 15mm Rod System.

Q: 4. What type is the internal sliding plate? Manfrotto 501? Tilta Dovetail? Other?

A: The Tilta 15mm LWS Quick Release Baseplate for Sony FS5's internal sliding plate does not have it's type listed.

A: Yes, this would work.

Q: 6. Is the baseplate manfrotto 501 compatible?

A: The baseplate itself (referring to the whole assembly) does not natively fit any quick release system, but you can mount a 501 plate to it through its 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting points. If you're asking about the quick release plate/system that is outfitted at the top of this assembly, then no. It is an arca-swiss standard quick release plate/system.

Q: 7. Does this come with a Sony VCT plate as well to mount it to your tripod?

A: No it is not.

[Universal] Purchased this for a Sony FX3 rig. Also purchased spare 1/4-20 bolts since the FX3 cage does not have a 3/8 attachment point. Very solid metal piece, nothing feels loose and spacing and machining is all very clean. Would use this for a baseplate on many different cameras. Quick-release plate is very fast for removing and placing the camera. 5

[Single Handgrip] Overall this setup is good quality for the cost. Nice shoulder pad. Good quality grips. Rail bolts tighten nice and hold strong. Good Manfrotto plate but the lock to tighten the plate is round and hard to get leverage to unlock when tight. Solid setup overall. 5
