Version II of this lens sees an improved optical design to achieve greater contrast and resolution, along with a redeveloped mechanical design with smoother operation and a more streamlined form factor.

Normal-length prime is designed for full-frame Canon EF-mount cameras, however is also compatible with APS-C models where it will provide an 80mm equivalent focal length.

Using a traditional triplet optical design, this three-element, three-group lens produces a uniquely classic image quality coupled with a distinct "soap bubble" bokeh quality.

Coated Schott glass is used for high clarity and contrast, as well as reduced lens flare and ghosting.

Manual focus design permits working with subjects as close as 15.7" away.

Twelve diaphragm blades help produce an artistic and distinctly circular bokeh quality.

Front 52mm filter thread is consistent throughout the Meyer-Optik Gorlitz version II lens series.

[Canon EF] I wanted to try a manual lens on my A7r IV. This lens is much sharper than my Sony 40mm G lens. On par with the Batis (albeit manual focus). It is extremely well built and the aperture can can declick for video. I'll be adding more from this line to my kit.

[Canon EF] The lens is still subject to side light and flaring, but NOT direct on sun shots. I am waiting on the other Meyer Optik lenses to come out of production, but this lens better then my vintage version. I love it.

[52 mm (Front)] This reprint lens has some advantages over the original model.
- Shortest shooting distance
- No mount adapter required
- Low lens distortion (personal impression)
And, the bubble bokeh comes out firmly as well as the old one.
I like it very much to exclude its price.

[50mm] Nice lens with nice bubble bokeh. Nice vintage effect. Creates a dreamy world or sceneray. You need to get used to the manual settings and handling (nowadays where everything is automatic) but it works quite fast. Delivery of B&H was very fast even from the US to Switzerland. I can highly recommend the lens and as well B&H.
